Hey, everybody gotta drive something around when the zombies roll in. So, what will be your primary mode of transportation during the zombie apocalypse? armored death wagon from hell, or light and nimble bicycle?
Whatever you plan on using, put it here!
My parents' Porsche.
Or maybe a van might be better. But Porsche's are fast.
An ambulance would be your best bet, they have the E450 shocks and springs which include a 15,000 pound air assist system, a 7.3L diesel to push the extra weight you would be adding with armour, a dualy setup for awesome traction and handling, medical supplies, a 150A alternator so you could run a lot of auxilary without killing the battery, dual fuel tanks, and not to mention theyll run forever since diesels are pretty hard to kill.
hmm...
I like the ambulance idea. After all, they wouldn't be that hard to find during an apocalypse.
Thanks, Brandon.
yea..
or hijack one of these beasts. I'm sure this would be my preferred ride.
hahaha omfg, that ride is meant for one thing, total and utterly devistating destruction, you could just run zombies over and flame the ones that survive lol i like it
Lol a tank if you manage to get on would be useful if the roads are blocked with cars just run em over with that behemoth
armored van
everytime you see an armored ANYTHING in movies or games, they always use unrealistic vehicles. a 1/2 ton van is not going to be able to drive with an additional 10,000 pounds of metal on it, the engine is going to be too weak, the transmission is built for highway, the axle shafts are weak and small, the ring gear is too small and the gear ratios are meant for fuel economy.
The ford E450 ambulances are great, they have Ford 9 inch rear ends, 32 spline chromoly axle shafts, a 7.3L turbo diesel, an automatic transmission with tall gearing, E450 springs and shocks and air assist for the extra weight, im sure i posted something similar before.
But it kills me when people dont put any thought into what they say or think they would do. A bus MIGHT be ok, but a lot of them just dont have the structural integrity an ambulance would.
Another easy to find vehicle that you can armor up and modify is a big rig, without the big trailer behind it of course, but you could probably get a small one to carry supplies, people and food. Theyre big, heavy, have air assist suspensions, big torquey diesels and a manual transmission so you wont have to worry about bands and clutch packs slipping like in an automatic.
Ok, so now we know that Brandon is a big fan of 9 inch rear ends.
tee hee.
lmfao
lol wow, its like im in high school autoshop again.
"hey how are your BALL joints? how do you like those POWER STROKES!? dont forget to grease your nipples!"
"hey how are your BALL joints? how do you like those POWER STROKES!? dont forget to grease your nipples!"
seriously, i almost pissed mahself laughing.
How about a RV.You could strip the inside of the beds and stock supplies. i dont know about armoring it but it has it's own water supply.
the shear mass of it would be impossible to navigate with all the abondoned cars, but if you find one and youre in an open area, then hell yeah, take it and modify it! theyre strong, can handle a lot of wait changes, diesels for extra power, and like you said they have there own water supply. The only down side is gas mileage, i know that if the outbreak occurs, you can just steal gas but that means a lot of being outside of the RV too. I like the RV idea, just as long as theres enough room to nav one ya know? plus it probably has a CB radio, good for trying to find safe places.
I want a BIG truck so that i can hit stuff
ill tell you details later!!!
Booyaaa
Well I guess the KIA is on the car for good reason.
Heh I just had to post this also.
lol i found another one
ha ha!
OMG its a clown!!!!
Dude!! i want that car/truck thingy that was in Dawn of the Dead but without the chainsaw mistake D:
YEAH! i would so rather want to drive a toy rather than an ACTUAL vehicle during the apocolypse! GOOD JOB!
It's not the ride but the intimidation.
But atleast if it fails to start you can throw it at them.LMAO
Lol thats a transformer... Brawl was its name I think
"hey how are your BALL joints? how do you like those POWER STROKES!? dont forget to grease your nipples!"
seriously, i almost pissed mahself laughing.
*sigh* Men....can't be serious without ONE gutterminded comment, can ya?
I want to have an F-750. BEAST TRUCK!!!

this b it
semi truck with a snow plow on front, machine gunners 3 on each side in the trailer, supplies in the trailer, inch thick steel plating, and to top it off, barbed wire half up all around the semi. only problem is I'm screwed if i need to do any repairs under it or fix a tire.
true fixing a tire in that will be a problem but find a repair shop and use the lifts and dont forget to shut the doors.
What if we just drove dirtbikes with submachineguns strapped to the bars?
How do you drive and operate a sub-machine gun?
well, you could easily assemble some sort of mechanism that would pull the trigger of the gun from the handlebars... it could be another switch under the breaks, and pulling on it pulls the trigger of the subgun. I don't know, it sounds fun.
How about driving a dune buggy.Their cool off-road capable. Not to mention customizable. You could put a trunk(those big chests your grandparents have somewhere in attic) in the back seat for storage.
Hey, even better, why don't we just go crazy and customize our own vehicles? anything can be a weapon if fixed right!
a massive garbage truck filled with guns all over it
Garbage trucks you could stuff them in the back and crush them.

Think about it. You could just wait on it until the apocalypse is over, and they carry a lot of food on them. Now how do i get one and refuel it.
Link is bad, but I'm thinking it was a sea faring vessel?
@NWwheelin7109: Gotta say I really like the ideas of the ambulance and big rig. Ideally of course once a securable base camp is established an assortment of vehicles for particular purposes would need to be gathered and refitted. I'm thinking a semi with a modified half trailer in addition to some of the other mentioned security modifications could be very useful for setting up recon posts. The half trailer would still be large enough to carry supplies and a smaller, faster "scouting" vehicle like a bike or buggy.
But until such a time as the secure base has been established, I'm more of a "make the best of what you've got" guy. Motorcycles or dirtbikes should be available in abundance, and especially for those trapped in an urban environment they would be the easiest way to navigate the cluttered and ill-kempt roadways. And once you've left the city, they're still good for off-road. Low fuel consumption, so fuel won't take up as much space in your supplies. Once you hit the open road though, I'm thinking the semi thing is my favorite option so far. Lots of storage space, you can carry a couple bikes and plenty of fuel with you, as well as supplies and survivors you come across.
My Anti-Zombie Ride would be designed for a whole amateur search and rescue Squad. I mean when u got time to kill you might as well make good use of it...soo search for any other survivors (who won't just be burdens) (in a situation like this you cant afford it) (Im cruel. i know). The vehicle would be a Semi-Truck with three trailer/boxes hitched to it. the one on the very end would be for survivor transport. The next one would be like the barracks for our squad. We'd have a couple of bunks in there and all of our weapons and ammo etc. Then the final one, closest to the cab of the truck, would be the food storage. On our way in between towns we'd just steal food from stores along the way. Gas would be openly available because there's gas stations EVERYWHERE and nobody's gonna make us pay for it because they're DEAD.
The link i posted before was a US carrier.
Here is exbadis pic.
Exbadis you can attach imagesjust FYP. If you need help or have questions hit us up in the chat and we can assist you.
A lot of these come up in one of my zombie plans actually, "Comprehensive survival guide to the pacific Northwest." I utilize an Ambulance, an aircraft carrier and a tanker truck. The real beasts though are gonna be the fire trucks. Throw a little bit of extra armor and a plow and you've got a virtually unstoppable death machine. If I was going long distance overland though I would use a train. The only thing that's gonna stop a train is another train. Or a penny on the tracks, there's that too...
Imagine two of these armored and sporting plows, cruising down the road, side by side pushing everything out of the way followed by two of these
It's got 4wd, air ride suspension and self deploying snow chains among other things.
and bringing up the rear, one of these full of 5000 gallons of diesel
It's got a new tractor now though (not shown), an international DT 4600 with automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, purchased lightly used from the navy.
There are several aircraft carriers at the Bremerton naval shipyard including the U.S.S Kittyhawk (from transformers)as well as a few retired carriers that might end up abandoned if the shit hits the fan.
i have a crysler pacifica for holding people i and supplies tt is until my parents take me seriously
Mine would probably be an 18-wheeler with armour on the back's sides. I would weld shut the passenger door, take out that seat and store supplies there. The back would have a couple spots that are open and would have snipers.
I'd have to use the Bat mobile. We all know what it's capable of. -And I'd hate to think evil could be lurking in the back seat.
