Ten Steps to Not Being Eaten Alive

Osigen Soahc's picture

Step 1: Secure Household
---Ensure that nothing can get in without average human intelligence, and preferably not even then.

Step 2: Form a Group
---Friends, acquaintances, complete strangers. If they have a valuable skill, aren't bit, and can prove trustworthiness their with me. (continue this step until step 8)

Step 3: Gather Supplies
---Food and water, obviously. Also pots, matches, weapons, medicines, fuel, survival manuals, and anything else that could prove useful. (continue this step until end.)

Step 4: Split up Group (Possible)
---If the group numbers ten or more split into groups of five for the next step.

Step 5: Designate Leader(s) and Rendezvous Points
---If it takes to long for any group to reach a point, they are left behind and presumed dead.

Step 6: Make it to the Shore
---Find a port with lots of Naval traffic. If I don't have a captain in the group at this point, I'll be looking extra hard.

Step 7: Commandeer a Ship (and Map if Possible)
---If one cannot be found move to another port.

Step 8: Find a Deserted Isle
---Something small in the tropics. They tend to be flush with life.

Step 9: Survive
---Get used to the island. Compared to zombie survival, it should be pretty simple.

Step 10: Check on the world
---If phones, radios, or anything else will work, see if that whole zombie apocalypse thing ever sorted itself out. Maybe in a few years ride to the mainland if deemed safe enough. If humanity won out, start our lives over.
