Plans for Z-Day
Step 1: Home
First, when I wake up and I’ve noticed the signs of a zombie apocalypse, I’ll check to see if my mother and anyone else in the house at the time have been affected. If so, I’ll grab the nearest weapon:
- Wooden baseball bat from the closet
- Steel candlestick holder
- Lead pipe from under the sink
Whatever. Any bludging weapon will do. *avoid objects like knives, plastic or blunt pieces of wood. Certain objects that you might think are a good choice as a weapon can prove to be quite useless if you don't think before you choose it to be your weapon*
After that is taken care of (hopefully I am unharmed), I will start preparing means of communication.
- Getting a hold of a working cellphone, with minutes and a strong signal for long distances (possibly from the nearest electronic store if I do not own one at the time)
- Change the message on my home phone for anyone who tries to call and leave the cell phone’s number in the message along with a meeting place within a 7-day period for any survivors who cannot make any contact with me, including location and time *be very specific but still under the time limit of message recording*
- Call my nearest friend or planned-out teammate for survival and start making a group
Before leaving, I’ll probably grab a few things useful to me (I’ll get to this later) and change my clothes:
PROPER ATTIRE
- Long sleeve shirt and pants, easy to move in, no loose loops or anything for obvious reasons. Try and get a good fabric that’s not easily ripped and frayed. Make sure your chosen outfit is comfortable and suitable for the season’s temperatures and if possible, in neutral colors.
- Belt. Hard leather with steel link for emergency use *avoid belt buckles though* and a pair of gloves. Try for gloves that don’t impair your functions like clawing or picking up objects (fingerless leather gloves may be the best, but it exposes your fingers so be careful)
- Sneakers. No discussion. Fast, comfortable running shoes, whether they’re fast zombies or not. A pair without laces like velcro or zipper would be even better as long as they tie tight on your feet. Boots, with or without steel toe would work great.
- Long hair should be tied up or somehow maintained in place, again, for obvious reasons (people with short hair like me are in luck). Avoid helmets that impair your vision *THIS IS IMPORTANT! Make sure you can see clearly and move your head with ease in the helmet that you choose* The virus can be transmitted not only in bites, but any fluid able to get into your body. Make sure all wounds are carefully bandaged and covered. A neck protector or something to cover your neck and mouth would be useful, and a good pair of glasses/goggles to protect your eyes (again, keep in mind the important notice above)
Pack some pre-packaged food, just in case I don’t get in contact with any source for a few days or until after the first wave and head out.
Step 2: Team
Once I’ve left my apartment, I either have the option of taking the stairs or the elevator. I’m far too high to take the stairs, plus I have a feeling there will be more zombies in there so as stupid as it sounds, my first choice would be the elevator.
- A key like those you usually see used to take elevators out of service are easy enough to get. If you go to any hardware or computer store you should be able to get one, and should be the same as the lock on any elevator.
After the elevator has arrived, I’ll use the service key and head down to the basement. Sneak my way through the garage (possibility of zombies, but going that way will hide my cover better and the zombies won’t be gathered up in a group because of its large size) anyway, get out through the emergency stairs and head to my friend’s building down the street through the back, and down the hill through the hole in the fence.
Distract any zombies enough to get to the steel back door that leads to the stairwell, and reach her house by there (since the glass back door leads to the lobby, and getting the elevator there would be too risky). Hopefully she will not be a zombie and might have other useful equipment to our aid *a larger list on next page of tools suggested*
Once I got a hold of her, we’ll head back downstairs outside and go around the back of the small row of houses by the side of her building, sneaking our way to the back of the hardware store. The area is a small shopping centre, so it’s still dangerous to be around there, but for the most part it’s usually more vacant than anywhere else close by me. Gather up as many supplies available in the stores
- Price Chopper = Food
- Shoppers Drug Mart = Medicine
- Canadian Tire = Tools
- Roger’s Video = Electronics
*Store list changes depending on where you are* These places may already be raided, have nothing useful in stock for this situation, or already infested with zombies so I’ll explain my attack strategy in case this happens later. Get a hold of a vehicle and drive around until I receive a call.
Step 3: Supply List
Items to have:
Crowbar *also works as a weapon*
Bolt Cutters
Lock Picking Kit w/ Tension Wrench
Small, Lightweight Hammer w/ Nails *also works a weapon*
Liam *also works as weapon*
Pocketknife
Survival Hatchet *also works as a weapon*
Flashlights w/ Plenty of Batteries
Walkie-Talkie Headsets
Window Punch
Emergency Medical Kit
Chain Hand Saw
Escape Ladder
Axe
Emergency Blankets
Weapons:
Bow and Arrow/ Crossbow with laser pointer and large quiver w/ plenty of arrows *if you have good aim*
Aluminum Baseball Bat/Cricket Bat
Guns *Careful. The main downside of using guns, as affective as they are, is that they’re loud. Use with caution. I'll cover a list of guns later*
Katana/Samurai Sword
Bombs *cover more on this later*
Coming Soon: Step 4: Making a Fortress
Step 5: Guns and Battle Positions/Attack Strategy
Step 6: Standing our Ground/Leaving the Safe House/Long-Term Survival
you are using a plan directly out of the zombie survival guide from lists of items in the order listed to steps and your step names all very similar, sofar the plan itsslef has very little flaws, lets see what else you present (fortress and running are the most dificult and have the most holes)
