http://www.amazon.com/Plague-Dead-Morningstar-Strain-Recht/dp/0978970705...
just "Look inside" and read the first chapter :D
You're a lucky bastard if you bought this book early...Plague of the Dead is worth $$$ now that it out of print
i looked at it and it looks hella sweet
very cool
got to get it
Got the book so far so good.
dude this shit sounds pretty good
I need to grab that from B&N this weekend fo sho
yup, so far well worth it
The Morningstar Virus is lethal, it also sounds like the zombies are runners
Im not to far into the book, been a little busy, but its bad ass, places right next to Max Brooks so far
Sadly the author died last December and so the 3rd book may never be finished,
Shame to loose such a great author
dude that does suck, I saw a few other of his books, Im gunna have to grab them for sure now
and I just finished the book about two hours ago
I love the take on the infected
The carriers are still alive (sprinters) and able to spread the virus, but dont require a headshot to take down. When they do go down to a fatal blow, they reanimate into the slower ones, well defined as zombies at that point (shamblers).
*SPOILER ALERT- NEXT PARAGRAPH*
Its like a combo of our virus theory as well as undead theory, the book was an adventure of its own. Poor Army guys got their asses handed to them, but I cant wait to read the books sequel, "Thunder and Ashes" where I guess it will pick up where it left off in the epilogue of Agent Mason, the Doc and Julie Ortiz in D.C. going to Nebraska as well as the General and his survivors en route to the same place but coming from Oregon as it last had them getting vehicles and driving into the sunset lol
*END SPOILER*
I found it to be an attractive read, Im placing it right there next to World War Z, my personal favorite zombie novel. Thanks to P0st for posting the thread!
It was quite a good read and the zombie "stages" are interesting, It reminds me of this squirrel i knew one time.
After linkin park became a band their new age infusion of hatred and teenage angst got ahold of old bucky. Bucky soon became immersed in this sub culture, wearing very expensive purple make up and what not and decided to go touch an electrical wire. Poor bucky did not make it through the encounter and instead up and died by old mrs. appleweed house. After two weeks of being mercilessly poked with sticks the half eaten corpse dissipated. At first we thought that it was the garbage man but then we remembered that he only comes out every valentines day to throw out the bodies of disfigured nerds and dorks.
seventeen and a half years passed before bucky reemerged, But that is in the future my friends...
woooooow
Yeah im pretty sure i told you to much so i will have to show up when your sleep and use the alternate fire button on the ray gun from COD5 to erase your memory.. It will also give you menstrual cramps, sorry bout that
eh, at least ya gave me a heads up
srry bud but it sounds like your memorys about to get poseidon fucked
yaw, I dont get anything any of yall are saying.
Anyways, Plague of the Dead is a great book
Look out for "Thunder and Ashes"
and since our good friend Z. Recht died, maybe someone will be inspired to finish the 3rd installment with an unknown title.
Theres still debate about that on the official forum for the series.
I wonder if he wrote any other books beside the morningstar saga...
I wonder where the second book will pick up from the 1st and how there is even need of a 3rd
Whats to debate, the guys dead lol- the final story will probably be sold to someone who wants to finish it
I havent seen any, all of his books are dedicated to the Morningstar Strain 100%
