PLAN - A:
1) If I hear about any case of a "Zombie Invasion" or "Apocalypse", the first thing I'll do is stay as calm as I can. I'll go to my closet, open my gun safe, and put all my gear on [Black Leather Hooded Jacket & Tactical Cargo Pants, Olympia Vented Kevlar Protector Gloves, Magnum Stealth Force Black Waterproof Boots, Bijan Tactical Knee & Elbow Pads, Tactical Shotgun Shell Belt, a plain black bandana, North 7700 Half-Mask Respirator, clear-lens goggles, and a BDS Tactical 5.56 Vehicle Operators Chest Rig containing a Motorola EM1000R Talkabout Radio, Gerber Multi-Tool, a Brunton Echo Zoom 10-30x21 Monocular, plus ammo for my guns.
THOR TR-15 (M4/AR-15) Carbine/KAC Masterkey: The TR-15 (Primary "Projectile" Weapon) will have a 14.5" Barrel, Aluminum CAR-15 Stock with H3 Buffer Tube, AR15 Charging Handle Tac-Latch, Tactical Link Single Point Sling, KAC Masterkey (Remington 870 Shotgun, except it can be mounted underneath an M4A1 Carbine like an M203 Grenade Launcher) with a TacStar Remington 870 Front Grip and Mesa Tactical 4-Round Shot-Shell Side-Saddle, Black Elcan SpecterDR 1-4x 5.56 Combat Sight, Magpul Black MIAD Grip, GG&G Rear BUIS & Tritium Aperture, Redi-Mag, Insight Technology AN/PEQ-15 ATPIAL Black Laser Box, Ameriglo Trijicon AR15 Front Tritium Night Sight, AAC M4-2000 Suppressor & Blackout Flash Hider, and a Surefire M961 Flashlight & Beam Cover (Right Rail).
Springfield XDM-9 Pistol: The Springfield XDM-9 Pistol (Secondary/Back-Up "Projectile" Weapon) will have a 4.5" Barrel, Trijicon Night Sights, and will be in Bitone with a Black Slide and an OD Green Frame. Plus, a Surefire X400 will be attached under the picatinny rail. It'll be stored readily in my BlackHawk Tactical Omega VI Ultra Universal Modular Light Holster.
Back to the gear. The BDS vest will have 4 Rifle Magazine Pouches on my lower chest that can hold 8 mags (2 in each pouch), plus 2 mags in the rifle (Redi-Mag+Mag-well) which makes 10 magazines all together (300+1 Rounds of 5.56x45mm .223 Caliber "FMJ" Ammo). As a side note, each of my M4A1 mags will be Black Magpul MagLevel PMAGs and will have a Black Magpul PTS Ranger Floor Plate fixed to the bottom. Each of my XDM's magazines can hold 19 Rounds of 9mm ammunition. The vest will have 3 Pistol Magazine Pouches on my upper chest, plus 1 mag in the pistol (Left Leg in Holster), and another in the exterior holster pouch (Left Leg Holster Pouch) which makes 5 magazines all together (95+1 Rounds of 9x19mm "FMJ" Ammo). As for shotgun shells for my KAC Masterkey (Primary Back-Up "Projectile" Weapon), I'll have 20 in my Blackhawk Omega Elite Shotgun Shell Rig on my right leg, along with 25 in my Mil-Spec Shotgun Shell Belt, 4 in the Mesa Tactical Side-Saddle, and 3+1 in the shotgun itself (52+1 "00" Buck Shot Shells). I'll have a John Gage Tactical Single Hand Marauder (Primary "Edged" Melee Weapon) on my back in a kydex sheath. Also, a KA-BAR Becker BK7 Combat Knife on my right shoulder in a Chestnut Ridge Kydex Sheath. And just for good measures, a S&W HRT Boot Knife (Last Ditch Knife) in my right Magnum boot.].
2) Me and my dog will go to my garage which has my armored Ford Excursion stocked with supplies (food, water, weapons & ammo, medical kits, gas, etc…) and get in. When I grow up, I'm getting a German Shepherd straight from the litter and raise it myself. I'll teach it how to sniff out people and objects, hunting techniques, and to only obey my commands and orders. Hopefully if I raise it right, it'll be my closest companion.
3) Drive to my church (about 2 min away) where I’ll meet up with my small group of friends (pre-planned) who have also brought supplies, weapons and armored cars. We should have enough for our group and a few tag-alongs for 3-5 months.
4) We've reinforced all of the entrances, exits and windows for maximum security. Plus, built in alarm systems will let us know if there is a break-in. We'll leave some extra supplies back in the cars in case we need to leave immediately. But most of them are inside, because we don't plan on leaving anytime soon.
5) After we're settled in, we'll take what weapons we have up to the roof (3 stories high) and kill any zombies on the ground that approach. We'll let anyone in that hasn’t been infected (if they already have, then they're dead where they stand). We have big, sliding, cargo doors in the back where we can check the people we bring inside.
6) We'll hold there for as long as we can. I don't see much point in trying to keep running away to MORE hordes of zombies. The farther you go, the quicker you'll run out of gas and supplies and eventually you'll be stuck. The only point of trying to get away from your current location would be to leave the country entirely, but thats not me. I'm standing my ground. Besides, I don't have a boat or any way of leaving the country. If my fortress does get broken into/over-run, however, I have a back-up plan. Old reliable, faithful "Plan B".
PLAN - B (Back-Up Plan):
1) There are two different ways of abandoning your shelter. One way would be to take all of your supplies, head back to your vehicles, stock back up, and head on out. The other way is if you're currently being over-run. In this case, you'll want to take whichever weapons you can carry and hightail it on outta there. The only time I'll be leaving is if our shelter it has been infiltrated by the zeds. Me and my friends will take our guns and run out of the place as fast as we can, while shooting any zombies that get in our way. Once we get back to the cars (which still have enough supplies in them for a month each) we'll hop in and drive out.
2) Our cars will already be fueled and ready to go. Make sure that you ALWAYS, check the back seat and buckle up. We'll probably just head up to a local school building, depending on the "traffic". When we get there, we'll take our guns and melees and go through the building making sure its safe. NEVER SPLIT UP! This is KEY for close quarters and securing buildings. If you're in an unknown building or area always stay close together. If we run into zombies or bitten victims we'll dispatch them and throw them out of the windows or burn the bodies. However, if we run into any healthy survivors we'll let them join our group. If the buidling is unsafe, we'll head out in search of another place to stay. If, however, the building IS secure, we'll quickly bring in supplies, lock up, and barricade all entrances.
3) If we ever run out of supplies we'll just head back to the church or some other supply store and bring back anythink necessary. If the old fortress is safe once more and clear of zombies, we might just stay back there again and rebuild the place. Either one we stay at, it'll be the same plan. We'll just stay there until we recieve any information of being picked up by air support on our location, or heading to a rendezvous point via sattelite radios.
PLAN - C (Second Back-Up Plan):
1) If, somehow, we end up being over-run at the school, me and my squad will try and make it to our car(s) and head to a local military base and stay safe there for as long as we can. From there on, its just a big circle. Fortify, defend, abandon, repeat.....let me know what you think.
Sounds like a good base plan. A few modifications (as we all need) but good none the less.
Hopefully one day we might meet up if the attack lasts longer than expected. Remember, if your base is compromised, you shall always find shelter in Ecretsu. Do bring supplies as you see fit.
And expect to work, lol.
Voted!
Good luck, and good hunting.
haha thanks for the vote. I didnt really take much time to write this, but my actual plan is a bit more complex than the words I put down. I just made it a lot more condensed and time elapsed than the real plan :P lol. and yeah, happy hunting
You seem to have thought this through.
However, have you taken into consideration the fact that power will likely have been turned off for the church? How will you run the alarms, or even the lights if there is no power? Even more worrying, what about air conditioning? people can get heatstroke inside buildings without some form of AC.
Other than power, good plan. just get more water, and seeds for a garden.
thanks for the thought! i never thought of that lol. but actually now that i consider it, we do have a backup generator that we keep off until something like that happens. and yes, ill make sure to get lots of water haha.
I have a gas powered generator for us i can bring.
you will want to run the generator outside or else you will end up like those retarded creole fucks in louisianna who ran them inside with no ventilation. Anything that burns will put out deadly toxins and gases and these can cause a range of side effects.
If the output of the engine running the generator is below 20,000ppm then running it in a building WITH ventilation should be ok as long as youre not prolonging your exposure to it, anything above 25,000ppm should not be exposed to any living person, at this density, dizziness, headaches and muscle pain occur.
At 30,000ppm you breathe at twice your normal rate, blood pressure goes up, migraines occur and your hearing can even be effected. This is where the signs of CO2 poisoning will start to show.
Now once you reach the 40,000-1,000,000ppm range, youre basically dead unless you can get to fresh air QUICKLY. You will become tired quickly with laboured breathing, pounding headaches, tinnitus as well as impaired vision. You are likely to become confused in a few minutes, followed by unconsciousness.
If you are breathing in CO2 for longer than 30 minutes, unconsciousness occurs more quickly, of course this depends on how high the concentration is. The longer the exposure and the higher the level of carbon dioxide, the quicker suffocation occurs resulting in an agonizingly slow, painful, stressful death.
Oh and hopefully the sound of a gas motor humming near your shelter wont attract anymore zombies, i dont think electricity is really worth all the worry personally, but if you can figure out a way to run it without it being a worry in the back of your mind, then go for it.
The symptoms you are describing are for carbon monoxide poisoning, the other danger that Carbon Monoxide poisoning poses is that it can stay in your blood stream for months. What makes it dangerous is that it absorbs oxygen at 10,000 times the rate of hemoglobin but it does not release the oxygen into your cells.
lol wow first of all, where did you learn all that? haha. and secondly, if the main problem is "using a generator indoors with no air conditioning" then I think we'll be fine because our AC is always running perfectly.
youve made the same mistake many have made in there plans..letting in survivors and expecting an evacuation for yourselves.
How are you going to know if someone has been infected or not? if youre entrances allow you to open them then they are not very secure. (you didnt go into much detail on how you would secure the entrances anyway)
and what if you are all that is left? who would come extract you? and walkie talkies are only good if someone else is listening, it seems like you plan on heading to your shelter in a somewhat short time frame from the beginning of the infection, that means not many people will be listening to a walkie talkie or CB or HAM radio, theyre going to be panicking and trying to flee, that also means less people in your area. Never rely on others to save you, as soon as you put your final steps of your plan into other peoples hands you might as well throw in the towel and surrender yourself to the zombies cuz in times of survival and pandamonium, the only person who can save you is yourself.
the problems with churches are that most of them have big stained glass windows and not usually built very strong.(that means the entegrity of YOUR interior structues cannot exceed the weight limits of the existing walls and frame). Having food and water is great but food runs out after a while without renuable resources and contained water wont last long either, you can use the faucets to drink from of course, but think about how that waters condition is going to change without personel at the water treatment plants, pretty unsanitary and possibly contaminated. Bullets dont last forever either, if youre up on the roof and the zombies find a way to break in, youre screwed because you only have 2 options left. You either climb down to the second story and try to hide, but you will encounter the same problem that SWAT teams face in close courters like that with an oncoming threat, you have limited reaction time, limited site and limited mobility, and if you run out of ammo (more likely to happen when on the move in tight areas) then youre fucked because the mass numbers of the undead will be swarming on you. OR you can stay on the roof and fight them off for as long as possible, maybe you run out of ammo, maybe you dont, but the fact still remains that there is a breech in your shelter and youre low or even out of ammo.
Plus, now you dont know if there are lingering zombies on the second floor and you cant throw a grenade or home made bomb down there you run the risk of destroying areas of your building. If youre lucky enough to make it down to the second floor and find no zombies, you have to find a way to fix the entrance point the zombies came in from.
Every plan needs a backup plan in case your other 5 backup plans and precautions dont work.
Awesome, thanks for the comment. The walls here are VERY strong and built well. There are actually quite a few glass windows, but we have metal sliding/locking cage doors to protect the inside of them. So if we need to lock up, we can just close those and maybe put a few blocades in front just to be sure.
And getting in and out is also easy, as all you have to do is slide it a few feet to get to the door. But you have to unlock it from the inside first (we probably wont be leaving that often though).
And the last thing that I'll do is hide. Hiding is one of the worst options. Becuase eventually you'll be found and killed. You have to get out of there. No place is safe, only safer (words of Max Brooks :P). And I dont really think that theyll be breaking in...but its always good to consider it a possibility. The thought of blood thirsty creatures trying to break into my fortress will never leave my mind.....
In the event that they do manage to break in, I'll have a back up plan. This isn't an ordinary "walk up the stairs to the roof" building like you'll find in Left 4 Dead. You have to go to the very back of the building to get to the bathroom (which the door will be locked and barricaded), then go to the back of the bathroom to a door (which will be also be locked and barricaded), then you have to climb up 3 stories of a metal ladder to get to the BIG steel trapdoor leading to the roof (which will be locked with a large chain and latch with a key lock). There are many large, thick, wooden and LOCKED doors that you will have to pass through to get to the roof. And of course I'll have the key to all of them, and perfect vision around the entire building. Now I don't know how you plan to get through that, but I'd like to see a braindead, retarded zombie try to do it haha.
good plan but, "we left food in our car in the parking lot." i think the zombies will destroy anything in there path including cars ti get to their food.
