Well...If zombies came. I would drive down to the local weapons dealer, grab a double barreled shotgun, grab some ammo and sprint back home. I would clear out my wardrobe, stash some food in the wall and lock the doors from the inside. I'd stay there for a couple of weeks then move out to another. Obviously I would run out of supplies and then I would have to scavenge. But my no.1 rule is never go out at night.

Casually strolling down to the good old weapons dealer = shit load of panicked people and no doubt zombies.
double barrel shotgun = practically most useless weapon choice slow reload and fire rate you'd be dead if you were attacked by more than two zombies.
Windows = easy entry point even if they have been barracaded.
moving = at this point zombies would be stockpiled youd have to leave viaa roof and that would be greatly un-successful.
FINALLY
only moving during the day = if you can see zombies they can see you therefore if you cant see them they cant see you, they dont have night vision.

Sorry, but other people will be crowding at the gun store... And people attract zombies. You'll be weaponless (and therefore defenceless). How much food could you carry? How much whilst being chased by zombies? How much whilst being knocked and barged by other people with the same idea? Everyone will have the same basic plan as you (unless they're prepared), you'll just be another tidbit in a zombie 'All you can eat'.
