My Plan Full Long Term "not done"Submitted by keatonstar on Tue, 07/06/2010 - 18:53 |
PART ONE: SUPPLIES
FOOD:
First off I have Hypoglycemia so I do have to bring a lot of sugar, such as none perishable candy, and in the long run I could get natural sugar from fruit.
Thee main food supplies I would bring would be canned foods and bottled drinks like water and Gatoraid. I would bring seeds for harvest, and my Celtic spear for hunting.
ARMOUR:
I actually have full light wight carbon fiber armor plating, the helmet has built in snow boarding goggles. The armor really is reinforced snowboard padding. I do snow boarding tricks and stunts every winter for fun.
WEAPONS:
I have Celtic weapons such as a Celtic spear & Celtic long sword. Yet, I still am trying to get a Celtic weapon thats basically a cub with two iron plates that actually has honey in it to increase the velocity of the hit. The gun I will bring is my AR 15 Semi Automatic Assault Riffle.
THE REST:
A custom made Mountain Bike, a couple snowboards, some astronomy maps so I know what direction I'm going, an axe, my archery equipment, and farming equipment.
PART TWO: LOCATION
I have chosen Yellowstone National Park in Colorado as my long term location.
I choose Yellowstone because, yellow stone is a perfect farming & hunting spot.
Yellowstone has an abundance of buffalo. If I kill one buffalo with my Celtic spear I will have food for at least a week plus it hide is gonna make a great blanket. Yellowstone is also a great fishing place. If hundreds of people go there every day to fish then they all leave, the fish will over populate and get bigger. That means I survive easier. Yellowstone has natural hot springs so unlike the other survivors I have both a bath and a hot tub. Yellowstone includes snowboarding spots too. Plus Yellowstone also has small islands with dense forest and small caves the perfect place to set up camp. Caves are easily heated with a fire and with some carpets and walls made out of hide it would be pretty comfortable. I won't tell you the exact island I'm going to go to because, I will have supplies and I don't wanna get raided.
Now hear are the reasons I am going to Yellowstone National Park:
1. It is an ideal Farming location, with mainly fertile and farmland, just like other National Parks.
2. It is an ideal fishing location.
3. It is an ideal hunting location
4. It is an ideal camping location
5. It is an ideal over all place for refuges.
6. It is an ideal place to create a new civilization "that will respect mother Earth"
After setting up my location I will create a fortress out of Blue Spruce & Pine Trees. this will be easy with the help of my friends. Yet even though we are together as best friends we still have to bring girls. Because, I'm not gonna go the rest of my life without sex, plus you need girls if you plan on making a new civilization.
PART THREE: GOVERNMENT
1. The Right to Bear Arms Against the Zombie Horde – Any persons aged 12 years or more (or that exceed 5 feet in height and pass a mental stability test) with full capability of handling firearms can be called upon to participate in the killing of hostiles in the defence of human existence and its posterity.
2. The Reciprocal Ration Law - Any persons living within human colonies and actively receiving food rations as part of the community are contractually obliged work for the longevity of the community by means of food production, defence, and the construction of facilities.
I. Children and elderly are considered passive receivers and will be given rations and care.
II. All persons are considered a child by the Reciprocal Ration Law until the age of 12.
III. The term ‘disabled’ applies to all persons residing within the colony who are incapable of working, due to age, crippling injuries or as otherwise stated.
IV. Any child of schooling age (4-13 years) shall only receive passive receiver status if they are enrolled in the colonial educational system.
a. Those refusing schooling must pass a basic intelligence and skills test and subsequently be put to work or face ejection from the colony at the discretion of the governing body.
3. The Infection/Execution Law - Any persons infected with the zombie-causative will be detained in a holding cell. When full transformation (loss of cognitive response and rationality) has taken effect, the zombie will be shot to death and burned to ash upon a pyre outside the colony border.
I. Immediate death will be presented as an option to infected persons upon written request or spoken request with a witness.
4. The Colonial Education Law – The education will primarily be based upon the traditional system used in Australia as of 2010. Any child of schooling age (aged 4-13 years) is required to enrol and partake in essential studies necessary to their survival.
I. Failure to complete basic education and training will void all rights to wield firearms.
II. All persons are required to take a training course in basic farming skills, medical aide, and fighting tactics to be drafted in times of need, regardless of their main skill.
a. Any individuals who refuse to partake in the education system can and will be ejected from the colony.
III. After seventh grade the curriculum will shift to incorporate vocational and military skills.
IV. After seventh grade students will be given the option to continue schooling part time to go to work or stay full time to pursue additional military and/or vocational training.
a. After ninth grade the student will be given the option to continue part time or drop out.
b. After twelfth grade one’s education must be pursued in one’s own free time.
5. The Goods and Resources Law - All food, firearms, ammunition, buildings, vehicles and materials are under the collective ownership of the central government (under singular control of the Field Marshall) and will be allotted according to need by the Quartermaster.
I. Personal effects and belongings are not subject to this rule.
II. Each household is permitted to carry as many melee weapons as they need, and one kilogram of salted meat for emergencies.
III. The governing body reserves the right to confiscate any materials necessary for the preservation of health, life, security and/or safety.
6. The Cyclical Disposal Law - All reuseable items are to be dispersed into their assigned collection bins and will be routinely collected for cleaning and reuse. All acceptable food waste will be sorted into the appropriate compost piles and used for fertilization. All items borrowed from the Quartermaster are to be returned at the end of the day unless a permit is acquired.
7. The New Survivor Initiative - All new survivors will be subject to medical examination for bites, infections, and other possible diseases that are potentially life threatening to the colony. New persons shall be put up in isolated housing facilities until specific quarters can be offered to them. In this time they will be informed of all rules, rights, and punishments of the colony and be subject to take either the competency tests that all colonists take (after their courses) or enrol in the mandatory training courses (and then take the tests). After full completion of the competency tests, said persons shall either volunteer for a job in the field of their choice or be assigned one by the Field Marshall or another representative. If aforementioned competency tests are failed, the collective colony reserves the right to exile and eject any persons they deem unable to further the colony.
I. Medical examinations will be done by a member of the same sex as the individual being examined.
II. All new survivors will be placed under surveillance and guard until such time that the Field Marshall decrees they are free of hostile intentions or traits that may otherwise harm the colony’s progression.
8. The Identification Proclamation – All colonists are to wear their personal identification bracelets, which entitle them to rations and gear from the Quartermaster. Loss of said bracelets are punishable by one lashing, unless they have not been allocated at such a time.
9. The Punishment Amendment –
1. Murder - Death by execution.
I. After the execution has taken place, the head of the convicted will be severed, have the flesh seared until only the skull remains and will be displayed atop the Headquarters for 14 days. All executions will be done in the center of the town.
2. Rape - Expulsion from colonial territory.
I. The convicted will be escorted to the border of colonial territory, upon arrival; he/she will be left to fend for themselves, with none of their possessions, except for a single article of food and their identification bracelet.
3. Theft - depending on the severity of the theft;
I. Personal belongings: 3 lashings.
II. Weapons and/or ammunition: 10 lashings.
a. In a state of emergency, lashings are increased to 20.
III. Food, water, and/or other daily rations: 10 lashings.
a. In a state of emergency, lashings are increased to 25.
IV. For every 3 articles found that are stolen, an extra 2 lashings will occur.
4. Dereliction of Duty - Failure to work within the colony while accepting food rations is in direct violation of the Reciprocal Ration Law and will result in expulsion from the colony. Failure to heed the call-to-arms in defence of the colony from zombies is in direct violation of the First Amendment and will result in expulsion from the colony.
5. Failure to Report Infection - Failing to report a case of infection of the zombie virus is in direct violation of The Infection/Execution Law and will result in expulsion from the colony for endangering others.
I. Domestic outbreaks such as this will be quickly followed by mass bite screenings for colonists according to location at the time of the outbreak, as well as sterilization of the outbreak site.
a. Refusal to be subject to bite screenings is considered minor treason and will violators will be subject to temporary imprisonment, until such time that it is determined they are free of infection.
6. Treason – Any direct organised attack or group plot against the reigning government counts as High Treason and will incur a penalty of immediate execution.
7. Population - Population must be a maintainable 5,000,000 or less.
I. If population reaches set levels population laws will be set into place, such as how many children you are enabled to legally possess.
The Government was done by Prophet with little editing by myself.
Body armour's not going to be much help against zombies. They grab and pull at your limbs and bit at your extremities.
Short of armoured shoes, gloves and a helmet (with arm and leg protection, just in case), armour's pretty useless.
The goggles are good though, as they would prevent bloodsplatter infection. (but you might want to wear something over your mouth, just in case).
I'm afraid to say that people with peculiar food needs are not going to last for too long. Would you be able to take enough sweets to sustain you until you're 80? =/ Sorry for the reality check.
Farming Equipment + Archery Equipment = GOOD.
Raiding is the only alternative to farming, and raiding is dangerous.
Bows = quiet. Quiet = less zombies. Bows = good.
The problem with Yellowstone is that other people are likely to think the same thing as you and head that way.
Any society that tries to "respect mother Earth" is pretty much doomed to fail. Modern society is based on using and abusing mother earth, and that's worked out fine for the last few thousand years. Whilst it'll fail eventually, it's a long drawn out death. Any attempt at society without this is likely to stay basic and be conquered (compare Native Americans to Europeans or Celts to Romans).
Also, the laws only work if you're in charge, and even then you need enough people so they can't govern themselves.
And women aren't just for sex -you're 14 for god's sake.
plus almost anything made of sugar is non perishable and sugar actually is the brains food source, plus I won't be the leader I'm a natural born follower. One of my many friends can be leader. also with new civilivation thing its not gonna be entirely environmentaly friendly, we will still need to use tech knology and destroy nature.
armor does cover mouth
actually my eating problem is manageable though and I probably could go tell i'm 80
Also, I know weamen arent just for sex If I said that my GF would bitch slap me... and she is useful 4 other things just didn't say them. P.s. celtics actualy held off the romans and had conquered all britain in there era.
