To begin i break into my school immediately after the outbreak. Available there will be all of the breakfast and lunch food along with sporting and fitness equipment to be used as weapons. i then secure our small gym (size of half basketball court, with a door to the outside, a closet type thing, a big vent, and a janitors hallway entrance) This way i have food and weapons in a secure location, but 2 ways out and a hiding place if something goes wrong. from here i can begin to secure the entire school. After i secure the school i have access to phones, computers, tvs, and radios. Now i begin to call close friends and test them to see if they are infected. If they arent i invite them into my secure location, where we wait it out. when food supplies begin to dwindle (wont be for a while, huge amounts of food are delievered daily. If i assume correctly it will continue to be delivered a few days after the breakout, but even if its not there will be enough.) a group of 4 will leave the gym and get food from the nearby market, if the store isnt looking promising we will either trade with other groups of survivors (via radio broadcast) or find a new store/restaurant. The small group will return, and we have the entire school to begin working on a cure (in the science labs) or get in shape in case of an emergency (gyms, fitness center). each member will carry a walkie talkie at all times (taken from school) and needs to have a backpack filled with enough water, food, crank radio, and a weapon at all times when away from the base of opperations (small gym) in case of a emergency.
