Zombie Survival Planning and some thoughts on others I have been reading.

I have read many of the plans and fantasies that a lot of people have written on here and they range from the childish to the inane, from the unlikely to the ones that have potential.
Many seem to think that they and the zombies will be the only ones in the mix. I will just stop by a gun store and take what I want, or hit the local Wally World and grab all of this or that, a heads-up probably not going to happen.
When I have trouble finding milk when they are even calling for an inch of snow the next day, I doubt you are going to waltz in and grab what you want.
I have been in countries where the shit has hit the fan and food areas and gas stations, ports, and roads out of a city are not places you want to be. As for gun stores what we saw in Los Angeles when the 2 guys robbed the Bank of America, the police were the ones going to the gun shops for ammo and bigger guns, so chances are they will be grabbing the bulk of anything before you even get there.
I mention all of this and so much more because being prepared before ANYTHING happens is so much smarter, than trying to do things after the fact, because if someone comes to my house thinking they are going to loot it for their supplies, they are in for a rude awakening. As the lyrics of one of my favorite songs go “ My house is protected by the good Lord and a gun, you might meet them both if you come round here not welcome son”
So my point is that preparing ahead of time, can save you so much heart ache and may just save your life. Also, being the father of a 5 year old, you teens that would just run off and leave your parents, may want to re-think that, as I know being a father there is nothing that would keep me from laying down my life to protect my child, and if you think about what I am saying which is, your parents may be your best protection and the best chance for your survival as they would give all including their life to make sure you survive.
Just a thought or two.
I will write a plan as I enjoy this genre and am looking forward to the new series beginning on Halloween night on AMC “The Walking Dead”. It might just give us all some good ideas.
