Idea of all Ideas

OK, i have a few zombie obsessed friends and i admit, i am as well. it gets to the point when we discuss zombie survival plans daily. but our most talked about plan is the one we know will be the most successful, and it is played out as followed...

First of all, one of us has an RV which will be our mobile base. assuming that there will be chaos due to the zombie outbreak, our first stop would be the gas station, where we would load up on gas in the tank as well as fill up some spare tanks incase of emergency that will be stored on board. after stocking up on any other things found at gas stations,(such as food, drinks, batteries, ect.), we will head to the nearest gun store to stock up on, well, guns, ammo, ect. (a more fictional plan we had was to mount a fifty cal. on the roof of the RV, which may be possible, but not a priority.)

a good idea would be to stay away from largly populated areas and keep an eye on the news. (assuming their still on air). also, sleep in shifts and hold no mercy. shoot and kill all infected wether you have feelings for the person in Pre-infection ages or not. thats the most sure way to survive. (plus wouldnt you want to put them out of their missery?)

always keep a pistol on hand. ALWAYS. not to use for killing zombies, but to use for suicide if suddenly overwelmed. trust me, you would rather die from a quick shot to the head them to be eaten alive by the infected. (like in that one movie that i cant remember the name of, but there is a guy on the roof and his legs are broken. he's on the ground shooting of a swarm of zombies with his pistol when he realizes theres no chance, so he puts the gun to his head to kill himself, and *click*. there is no more bullets, so you get to hear him scream in agony as he get eaten alive :) ) not very pleasent.... so always have a pistol...

well i think ive gotten everything. the point of this plan is not to eliminate the zombie population but simply to survive and go almost undetected, yet to be prepared if nessesary to kill.

thanks,

If only it were that simple

the biggest problem i see with this plan is one i have with many plans. "looting the gun store" sounds like the perfect idea, but wouldn't everyone else think so to? just about all of the guns would probably be gone. either that or someone's probably hold up it there with a mob, and won't let you set foot in the place. and if you didn't accomplish this what seems to be essential part of the plan, then where would you be? you'd be in an RV with a horde of zombies on your ass, that's where. now that I've spent this time ripping apart your survival plan, I'm going to add: a 50 cal. mounted on an RV is an awesome image, and i have to put that in a movie.

Also, no matter how much gas you have, you'll run out eventually. Even if you're out in the middle of nowhere, you'll want some AC or heating and for that- you'll need to turn on your engine. Also, the sound of the engine will attract unwanted zombies. Another thing is, will you really want to pile up tons of gas inside the RV instead of food or ammo. And even if you try and balance what you carry, there's also a high chance someone could set off one of the gas tanks causing a huge explosion- especially if you're being attacked (whether it be by being shot at by raiding survivors or zombies- someone could hit a tank). If I were using your plan, I'd rather have an APC (lighter armored tank on wheels with a mounted turret) to plow through crowded streets and such.

resident evil

yeah, that movie's resident evil 2. good plan, but it's always possible that zombies could overwhelm and push it on it's side
