Holiday

ZOMBIES MUST DIE's picture

Ok, so I was thinking what if the zombies attacked while I'm on holiday?? I'd probably have no idea whaf my location has to offer when it comes to protecting yourself against the undead, so I'd probably die pretty quickly. However, I thought it might be a good idea to make a plan for the place I'm most likely to be when the zombies attack - Disney. This may seem a little crazy, but my family goes there every other year and I pretty much know the place inside-out.

Safety

I figured the safest place to hide from the zombies would probably be the castle in Magic Kingdom. The walls are about two feet of concrete and the main doors are (I think) either solid wood or steel. I'm pretty sure the castle is surrounded by a moat, so we could break down the bridges, preventing and zombies getting in for at least a couple of days (depending on the number of zombies). As for an escape route, there is a cable (kind of like a zip-wire) running from the top of the castle to a building below - this building is either on Main Street or in Tomorrow Land, I'll have to check. Either way, this provides and adequate escape route as the zombies shouldn't be able to follow us this way - if they tried this they'd probably just fall over the edge of the balcony wall to their death. The only other way they'd be able to follow us is to go back down through the castle and out into the moat. It would then take them a while to get back out of the moat, but by this time we'd probably be half way to the centre of Orlando...

Here's the thing, there's too

Here's the thing, there's too many people. If you really want to survive, get out of the park, steal a ferry, and go to the furthest island in the lagoon (with the mexican restaurant).

Capn774- more badass than going back in time and kissing your own mother at the "Enchantment Under the Sea" dance... wait a second, that's not badass! That's just plain weird!

I thought you knew the place

I thought you knew the place inside-out...

There's a big lagoon to the left of the entrance. Right between the Contemporary and Grand Floridian.

Ok, Ok

So I lied. I don't know the WHOLE place. I know all of the parks (more or less), Coronardo Springs and Port Orleans (Riverside). Which reminds me... I could claim one of the hotel blocks there... New plan coming soon!!!! ^.^

SUGAR!!!

For all of you that don't know me, sugar is a main part of my diet. I can get by on a whole bunch of energy drinks, chocolate bars, lollipops, sweets AND coffee with 7-9 spoons of sugar. No sugar rush. No crashing. I once went for almost a month of eating pretty much nothing but sugary snacks and I'm still ok. Well... as ok as I'll ever be ^.^

Ahem.

Interesting thought.
Disney world would probably be a difficult one for short term and long term infection. Lots of people = (potentially) a lot of zombies. and a lot of people wouldn't submit to a strip search (ya' pervert, mothers and children?) potentially leaving you a lot of zombies to deal with inside your makaeshift fort.
As for food, I imagine it's all sugary snacks, and drink likewise.

More thought is required!

But good start.

I've thought about this many

I've thought about this many times as well, and I found that the best way to survive is to be versatile and monitor your surroundings.
An example would be thus:
I was recently visiting my grandmother in New York... not NYC, but Mechanicsville, NY, a small town of about 5,000 people. Anyway, her house is a one story, two bedroom, one bath, living room, kitchen, an attic, and a basement, a rather small house in all. I figured what we would do is quickly grab all the food and water she has, and the small CB she uses to listen to what's happening, and get into the attic.
As for weapons, she has none, but I figured out what we would do to hold out until we could communicate with the neighbors. In the garage there was a ten or so foot long pole of sharpened wood, I guess it was a flag pole of some sorts, but if the zombies breached the door, we could use the pole to impale the beast to keep him at bay while presumably I beat the head with a hammer to destroy the brain.

So the best way to survive while on holiday is to know what is around you and plan out ahead of time.

Yeah

That's what I'm trying to do - plan ahead of time. I have a pretty good idea of where everything is in Disney (sad, I know) so I'm pretty sure I'd be able to work with my surroundings in order to survive. However, it's not really the best place to be in the middle of a zombie attack - giant theme park, thousands, maybe even millions of people... don't think I wanna go there anymore :/

That is one thing about large

That is one thing about large areas, you have a bittersweet relationship with them.
Bitter: lots of people.... lots of zombies, and a faster infection spread rate due to density.
Sweet: Access to vast amounts of food, supplies, etc...

Ahem.

But i doubt if the food there has a good shelf life or nutritional content. Most of the liquids would be carbonated and full of sugar...
This is all speculation. I've never been to disney world. Which is why I'm DepressedRacoon

There's one in Florida, one in Paris. That's all I know.
But I've been to Legoland! Not the proper Danish one but Legoland Windsor. And that place kicks some serious brick.
Sugar isn't that great from a long term prospect.

Actually...

There's four in total:

Florida, Paris California ans Tokyo.

Also, not all of the drinks are filled with sugar. The shops are loaded with bottled water, with it being in a hot country with a lot of tourists who may not be used to the kind of weather there...

I think there is also one in

I think there is also one in California somewhere. Even though I am 19 and am going to college... I still want to go to Legoland. lol
And yes, I agree on the sugar statement, but I am currently in a state of... how do I put this? WANTING SUGAR.
Of all the food I would gather, sugar is not very high on the list, it's on there, but not prevalent.

The main things I would need is salt. Everything else I can get from the massive horde of rabbits that cover the entire county, the flock of sheep and the massive (by English standards) herd of cows just down the road from my location.
This is my plan, in case you hadn't seen it. I saw Ecretsu ages ago, and if you can get it to work, it's easily one of the best long term plans on the site.

Why thank you, I'll check yours out here now.
I do hope it works, there is a whole thread about Ecretsu somewhere, I'm going to try to find it. Ecretsu really was meant as a long term plan, for an immediate plan it's the Duck Island part in the beginning, but it is described in detail in the thread, as well as pictures.

Ahem.

I was due to go to Burrow Mump and take pics yesterday. but my friend who said he'd come up on friday, said he'd come up on saturday, said he'd come up on sunday never showed up. So I bailed on taking the (potentially strategically important) trip in favour of waiting around the house, doing not much.
Gotta love friends.

I have thought of an extra thing for the long term bit of my plan, there's an active building site at the end of my road. After the initial rush is over, come back for some basic building supplies.

Note

This is an unfinished plan as it was late when I
I started it and I was getting tired - I will update it as soon as I can.
