Head For Canada

FreshBananas's picture

I have recently joined the United Sates Marine Corps and On August 30 will head off to MCRD San Diego for recruit training. If all goes as planed then the outbreak will ocurr sometime after boot camp and my MOS training. If on a base some close freinds and I will borrow two humvees, hopefully ones with .50s or MK19s, and two large cargo trucks. We will then procede to obtain large amounts of MREs, ammuniton, extra weapons including M16, M4, M9, MP5, M249, M240, M2HB.50, and M24 or M40 just about everything and anything, large quantites of medical supplies, including a soldier in the medical profesion, clothing and fuel for the vehicles all stored in our trucks. We would head north to Canada and on the way there we stop at any large Home Depot or Fleet Farm w/e is in the area and pick up supplies to fashion a crude log cabin, gardening supplies and materials to build a simple water filter. Once we make our way into the backwoods of Canada we pick a suitable place near a large lake with a good size river. We build two cabins, a large facade around our complex, an extensive garden, storage ares and a latrine. Then we sit nice and cozy. We live off our gardens and forrage for other edibles, we hunt for any wild life that looks delicious and we could fish for anything in the lakes or rivers. During fall we would stock up for winter by smoking and salt curing meat and vegitables. If that dosnt work out we can resort to our MREs as a back up. If zombies do rot out after a number of years we could head back down into the US to find other survivors and set up another colony of sorts. One thing very appealing aboot Canada is that its very isolated and not many people live in the far backwoods, aslo during the winter zombies get frozen and make for easy targets. Living in Wisconsin my entire life growing up hunting, fishing, camping , hiking and canoeing has given me alot of experiance in the outdoors. Im a total gun nut and not a bad shot with almost any firearm out there. With the help of other Marines i think this plan is almost fool proof. Now if I happen to be overseas when the outbreak ocurrs then im not sure what ill do. Im still working on that plan. In the end i hope you can all find your way to safety and happy zombie hunting.

ha, you dumb boot- Im gunna have fun picking this apart piece by piece:

1.) the humvees- one: you probably dont know where the motor pool is, two: you probably dont even know WHAT a motor pool is, three: you wouldnt know one if it was right in front of you, four: humvees dont have random .50's, MK19's, 249's or anything of the sort on them while unmanned. Thus, I dare you to try and take a seasoned Marine out of his humvee, you will be met with a good ass kicking and a "dumb boot" to follow.

2.) The two large cargo trucks, aka "7 tons" (learn something bootie): I am willing to put MONEY, down, straight up cash'mula that you wouldnt be able to figure out how to even start that bad boy up and if you some how managed to, how to make it work for you.

3.) I will do the MREs/Ammo/Weapons because I find this funny as hell: Each single one of those are located in individual secure locations, contrary to what your boot mind thinks, Marine bases dont have mre's ammo and rifles on the ground like some type of Left For Dead scenario. MRE's are in the supply storage (one of soooo many look alike storage areas that just so happen to be locked as well, good luck finding it by the way). Ammo is at the ASP, a veeery secure location that is surely to still be under watch. And last but not least, all weapons not in the hands on a Marine will be in the Armory, the one place I am willing to bet both of my balls that you will never see the light of in case of emergency. Those are some of the 1st places to go on lock down. And I'm read some of the weapons you listed, note: ROFL- you will more than likely not see just about a good 75% of what you just said. Wtf do you think, the Marine Corps. is rich? Boy you are in for a ride.

4.) Your "soldier in the medical field." Dear god I hope you didn't just refer to a Marine. Boy you got a lot of learning to do. We have NAVY Corpsmen, our equivalent to the Army's medic. And what are you gunna tell him "uuuuhhh get in?!" I'd have half a heart to laugh my arse off before I did any such thing.

5.) This part is soooo funny to me: Quiz time. What type of fuel does a humvee take, how far could it get on a full tank and where would you even get the fuel- please tell me at a gas pump- I would probably piss myself laughing. Fyi, the fuel is very specific and is located at one of the gas supply points which you have to have a card to fuel up with (its not an open pump), thus limiting you severly.

6.) That drive north you speak of would be next to impossible. You are talking about California. Think about the population density you would be driving threw, all the other people who are trying to go in the same direction. God this is so funny.

7.) Your stop at Home Depot or whatever. So whats the plan, a small military convoy stops to loot a business while everyone just stops and doesn't misbehave at all? No one would try taking your weapons, your vehicles or your lives, that's what your telling me huh? Marines aren't gods, especially boot one's who wouldn't know how to throw a defense up against even a small attacking force of people, hell, I'm willing to bet you would hesitate and freeze up when your rifle jams if you had the guts to even pull the trigger.

8.) It is amazing to see how many Carpenters, Hunters and Gardeners you have in your group. Your talking about building cabins and all this other great stuff, but lack the skill set's to complete such things.

9.) "Fool Proof". ROFL.

My summary of your pipe dream is this: You are a boot. You will be treated like a boot even during a zombie outbreak. If you are either in MCT or your MOS school, you will be used as basically support personnel and not like weapon support, but more than likely "hey you pvt/pfc idiot, carry these ammo cans/water jugs over to those guys" which is important, just remember your place, you haven't earned the right to say anything or do anything that will put you in the position to lead Marines anywhere, risking their lives. Leave the thinking to your higher ups. You will not be granted the freedom you need to carry out your plan. The farthest you would get is being assigned a crappy old training m16a1, more for comfort or desperation on the commands part and pray it doesn't jam after every shot if they even give you rounds.

Welcome to the Marine Corps. assuming you made it out of bootcamp.

Hopefully the highways aren't

Hopefully the highways aren't clogged up by then. Do you at least have some knowledge of the area you'll make it to?

Capn774- more badass than going back in time and kissing your own mother at the "Enchantment Under the Sea" dance... wait a second, that's not badass! That's just plain weird!
