Good Items

neccesary items
I believe that everyone should have a generator. The best would be a propane powered one because they are more silent than the gas operated ones. They will also provide energy in time of need. However we should all know that gasoline is an everyday item. so we should all stock up. We need gas for transportation and explosives if the situation is dire.

First Aid Kit

A small first aid kit comes in hand at all times. In the event of a zombie bite, you're screwed so it won't matter, BUT a first aid kit can help you with the blisters you might develop while running from zombies. You could also get blisters on your hands after shooting zombies. A few bandages and some antibiotic ointment can fix those things right up.

Snacks

Killing zombies and running from zombies is hard work and it works up an appetite. Personally, I have a few favorite snacks that I would want to have stockpiled. I know they would give me energy and they would serve as comfort foods on those nights when the impending doom of zombies closes in. While I'm not much of a banana eater myself, a banana can serve useful in the event of zombies as the banana provide you with potassium.

Hand Sanitizer and Soap

While there are a number of things that should be included as supplies in the event of zombies, you can't go wrong with a massive supply of hand sanitizer and soap. Killing zombies is icky work and just imagine how much better you will feel after a long, hard day of dispatching the undead, to know that you can clean up and remove that nasty zombie gut residue. Let's face it, zombies stink and if you can get a supply of soap or sanitizer, you won't believe how much better you will feel when you are clean and fresh-smelling.

Air Freshener

Along the same vein as the soap, air freshener is not a bad idea. Zombies stink and you might want a little Febreeze or Renuzit to freshen the air and cover the stench.

Toilet Paper

Yeah, it seems silly (not really - have you ever been caught without toilet paper?) but having a good supply of toilet paper (and I'm not talking about the paper thin fall-apart stuff) on hand at all times can just make your life more tolerable. Imagine the alternatives - did your grandparents ever talk about using corn cobs and pages from the Sears catalog? Yeeeaahhh. . .you don't want to go there if you can keep from it. Spend some money and start stockpiling your toilet paper now.

Entertainment

Okay, I know that there won't be much opportunity for mind enrichment or simple entertainment, but having some way to pass the time could be the difference between surviving and becoming lunch because your brain has starved and become mush due to lack of stimulation.A deck of cards, a chessboard,a couple of magazines or a few books can keep you from going stir crazy. Learn to play a simple and portable musical instrument. Get yourself a harmonica and learn how to at least play it a little. Memorize songs and poetry for singing and recitation during lulls in the action. Make sure to memorize jokes for those long nights when boredom is on the menu. Some paper and pens or pencils can give you Tic-Tac-Toe or Hangman or even allow you to put a few of your thoughts on paper for later reflection. Try your hand at writing poetry or maybe a zombie haiku or two - you know, zombku.

There are plenty of other things that will come in handy during a zombie apocalypse and this list is by no means comprehensive. Seriously. Take my list as just a starting point. Add to it on your own because in the event of zombies, it is better to have already learned how to think for yourself.
