Get Planning

I've been reviewing a few of the 'plans' on here on whilst they do have some elements of success, most are reactionary to the situation and inevitably doomed to failure as they rely on being in a certain place at a certain time when the Zombie Apocalypse rises and the plan kicking in without a flaw.
To this extent I thought it worthy that we all actually plan for the event and take steps to avoid becoming part of the problem and I hope that you will benefit from a few of the points outlined below.

Point 1. Have more than 1 plan - "I'm gonna go to the mall" etc won't help if you are 30 miles away, on holiday in a different country, away on a business trip, you get the jist. To that end, I have several zombie plans that I can roll out as soon as Zombie Apocalypse rears. Always be planning, looking for a stronghold, suitable vehicle to escape from the area, possible allies if you are in a foreign area to you. Never rely on your one plan, you need to adapt to the climate.

Point 2. Zombies break out and all of a sudden we're all gung-ho, We're all going to "arm" ourselves with hi-tech, state of the art weaponry. Most people wouldn't know how to source the weapon let alone load and use it. I would recommend joining a local gun club therefore giving you time to familiarise yourself with your weapon and more importantly practice the crucial head shots. You will also gain a licence and be able to legally purchase a weapon which will be advantagous when everyone else is busy rioting in the first few days of the event.

Point 3. Similar to point 2 in that we are all going to raid the shopping centre / mall for food? Everyone has it in the plan, you will be killed in the ensuing melee of anarchy. Much better to build up a good supply of canned goods. Add a little extra every week to your shopping budget and rotate your stock to ensure you have a long end date. Similarly stock up on basic medical supplies, batteries, cleaning products and sanitation. Once the outbreak has taken over you will be in a position of good health and stamina to be able to conduct a raid to top up your supplies.

Point 4. Get practical. If you don't know how, then learn. It's a great time to start modifying your house into a stronghold, chances are high that you will be at home, or can get home when the rising starts, so make sure that it is ready. We all know it takes time before Zombies become intelligent so your home could be a good base to hold up in before coordinating your efforts with fellow survivors and moving to a more rural but fortified area. Pass on your knowledge to others, the more versatile your family / loved ones are, the more likely you will work as a team and improve your chances of survival.

Hope that you guys find this helpful and I will upload one of my plans shortly.

Keep alert and stay safe,

ChrisAxe

4 great pointers that all submissions should follow. I would has 60-70% of the submissions fail on point 3, this is a good read before writing up your zombie plan!
