When/if the outbreak happens in my lifetime, ill be prepared. I've already secured some of the essentials, a few Katana swords as guns would attract to mucg Unwanted attention, and even a few cases of water and non perishable, canned foods.
I live in a small town so there won't be that many zombies around when the Panic finally hits our town.
I would steal a car if it happens before i got a license because i need a car to get to my location of choice, because frankly the police dont do jack sh** in my town now so when the outbreak does come ill be surprised if i find more than three on the streets WITHOUT guns let alone with guns....Ramble....Ramble.
I would take a team of 2 with me as i only have three Katana's, gathering more people on the way to my local Abbey.
The abbey only has three entrances that i know of and only a few windows, but i should get enough wood from the pews and the organs inside, and the remaining wood can be fashioned into baseball bats and beating weapons.
Then it begins. Ha Biskey!
I would send a few people out on patrols to the local police station to raid it for weapons and ammo, (as they dont use them anyway...) hopefully we'll find a few policemen holed up in there too and bring them back, and over time build a moat around the place filled with a bit of gasoline and spikes, and a few pit traps and elevated sniper towers (with ladders so the zombies will have trouble getting to the Human Happy Meals)
I would raid the cars on the motorways and railroads around for gasoline to put in the pit, and in the evnt of a major attack on our stronghold we would ignite the gasoline so the zombies would get bottlenecked.
But we couldnt stay there or we would get overrun, so we would evacuate to location 2, the local school.
Maybe someone beat us to it, so we have to be prepared for a fight, but most likely if it were taken, they would need ammo and supplies and more people to man such a large structure, plus the firefight would attract the zombies we just evaded, and no one wants that.
either that, or they suffered a similar fate as our last hiding place and they're either being attcked or there is a horde of the undead around it.
In case of the former, we would band together and send out recon patrols to various locations to gather supplies and ammunition. (no more guns. a drain on resources) Hopefully my team is still alive and making use of their swords and clubs we salvaged from the abbey, and we would try to survive as long as we could.
In case of the latter, then its on to option 3, an old, abandoned old folks home just literally 35 metres away from where i lived. The Abbey is just a couple miles away from that, and the school is a couple miles away from that.
Im not saying that all these locations will be free of zombies, but hopefully our team would search around and take any out before we got fully holed up in any location.
And before you post comments saying 'are you thinking your team is immortal?' no. im not. in fact we'll probably all get devoured before we can fill the moat around the abbey with gasoline. Hell we'll probably be zombies before we even get to dig the damn thing.
but hey, if we do manage to fill the thing with gasoline and set up the sniper towers maybe we'll have a chance to hold out indefinitely.
