Alright, here's my first go at a survival plan. I'm 12 years old, so please bear with my spelling mistakes, if any! Okay, first things I would need to think about are:
A) What class of outbreak are we dealing with?
B) How much time do I have before infection spreads to Milton (my current place of residence)
First off, I would get inside one of the many dilapitated apartment buildings in my neighbourhood. "When inhabited by various people, an apartment building can become an instant haven from the undead."(~Max Brooks) As soon as I got inside that building (with the help of 3 friends) I would cut the stairs down and place a retractable ladder at the top, as the undead lack the coordination to climb ladders. Then I could place various defenses across one hallway, and cut off the stairs at the end of that hallway too. Basically, we now have A)A bare lobby with a retracted ladder, and B)One floor with a turret to stop themfrom advancing. If they did advance past the ladders/turrets, they would have to jump quite a few feet to get to the next floor up (in my knowledge, zombies can't jump.....right?...guys?). After that, i would have a floor filled with weapons and ammunition, and beyond that, a room stocked with nonperishable provisions. At the utmost top, the apartments would be inhabited by me, a few of my classmates, and a handful of survivors, as I believe one of the most important parts of surviving is to help others survive, too. But make no mistake, if any survivors are untrustworthy or deceitful, they will be personally shot by me (Hey, for a kid in 7th grade, I play hard ball!!!). Now for some details....
-Door to lobby will be boarded up/sealed with anything we can find
-Considering putting a semi-deep moat around building-slow them down(?)
And finally, Entrance will consist of some kind of challenge that requires coordination.....any ideas will be greatly appreciated, as well as constructive criticism!!!:) Please don't hesitate to ask me questions, as I hope to be a regular on this site from now on!!! Thank you!
