A firehouse. A perfect place for a zombie outbreak. You got you'r axes, possibly fire-trucks, an upstairs connected with a quick escape pole, and it is easily securable. You also might have food to last for a month or so. I will list steps below on what I would to do prepare for this zombie outbreak as it is happening.
1) Absorb information about the outbreak. Runners? Walkers? Strong? Weak?
2) Assemble a group of 10. Mom, Dad, Sister, Me, a couple of neighbors, and friends also, I will make sure I don't waste too much time doing this.
3) Know my food proportions. How much food will we be using?
4) Split my team of 10 in half, have 5 people go out and get guns, while the other 5 people go out and get food, metal, wood, and anything we would need to prepare the building for an outbreak.
5) Prepare the building. Take the wood, and metal and secure the doors by reinforcing ALL the doors with metal, and wood, and all the other materials we have.
6) There are beds, and bathrooms in a fire-house so we won't have to worry about sleeping arrangements.
7) Relax, and take a break. You don't want to get too overwhelmed, as you will mess up. You want you'r fort to last as long as possible.
8) Now get spray-paint or any paint which they should have, and go to the roof and write; "ALIVE SURVIVERS INSIDE!"
9) We should be all set now.
10) Turn on all radios low, and listen.
11) If we have to go on recon missions for food and other things; we will use their firefighter suits, which are very durable, and flame resistent, which means they are zombie resistant also.
12) The firehouse is in the middle of town, so there is a food market literally half of a block away.
13) There are barely any windows, and this firehouse is a decent to small size so it is more manageable than a big middle school like in my last plan.
14) Have a sleep cycle system. Have 5 people sleep for 8 hours, while 5 people are awake for 8 hours. If anything shall go wrong we immediatly wake them up, get our guns and axes, chop away, and repair. Repeat if necessary.
15) Survive!
For plan B (which there probably won't need to be, see step 14.); If needed to evacuate we will go to the middle school, literally half of a block over. Once we are there, immediatly lock all doors, and start reinforcing the doors. If you want to comment any fixes this plan may need I will add them, listing the date they were added. *UPDATE FOR 1/7/10*:For plan C (if the middle school is compromised by zombies,); We will go to the sea which is around a 1/2 mile away from the middle school. My dad knows how to easily hotwire cars/boats, as he works with the everyday as an autobody guy.
P.S. Yes Kuma I did change my mind about killing the people inside, I will keep them and make the do their share of work.

if we have the supplies, HELL YEA!!! but if not...then we just cant lol
this firehouse acually isnt the main one, we have 2, and people would usually go to the other one down the block from me, but i chose to go to this one, as it has less glass windows, and sturdy garage doors. It also is a brick building with a good roof. I say this is way better than my other plan involving my middle school, as the middle is too big with less weapons. on the other hand the firehouse, is quite small and has many weapons and axes.
But what are you going to do if a bunch of other people come to the firehouse? during natural disasters, firehouses are usually one of the first buildings to get swamped with people...
if they dont listen or too panicked well tell them to "get the fuck outta 'ere" or "we'll shoot your fuckin head off" lol but yea we would. theres no messing around when your dealing with your life at stake.
I was actually going to vote your plan because other then this comment, I like it. But my belief is that if you take over the operation of a fire station as your anti-zombie for, you are responsible for the safety of any survivors that some knocking, but then that's just me. I hope you change your mind, because otherwise it is a pretty good plan.
