Final PlanSubmitted by ZOMBIES MUST DIE on Sun, 08/08/2010 - 10:51 |
There's not really much point making a completely detailed plan.
1. It's highly likely that the things you plan to have with you aren't available when you need them.
2. Things change.
I will do whatever it takes to survive, simply by using what is available to me at the time. And I have one rule: don't get too attached to anybody. If the person you love goes missing, is a long way away or gets infected, it's likely that you'll die trying to find/save them. Don't bother looking for friends or trying to protect people 'cause it'll get you killed.
You're right, things may change, but your house never goes anywhere. If you're at work, your car is hopefully right there and you have some sort of self defense weapon. As for leaving people behind, if you're the last person on earth or at least in the immediate area, you're unprepared and have no way of killing off any zombies in the area, you will eventually die anyway and the human race could end with you all because you didn't want to risk your life for someone elses? Thats pretty selfish.
Would you rather live alone as a coward, than die with honor?
Go buy a baton, it telescopes out from a small 8-10 inch stick that would fit in your purse no problem and its light, maybe 1-2 pounds. It'll do a LOT of damage to a zombrain. If anything its a great way to keep asshole guys or someone trying to mug you away.
So you're saying:
"Prepare to be unprepared?"
I guess that's better than not being prepared at all.
You should perhaps have some basics down though. Like having enough of this and that, so you don't have to run to the now zombie infested Walmart.
Yes there is much point making a detailed plan. You need to know what you have available, skills, tools, weapons etc.
Also, it allows me to post nasty things about your plan.
Humanity > Me.
Humanity > You.
So try to protect and save as many people as possible.
This "plan" is against my mantra for the ZombPocalypse: Plan, Save, Rebuild.
To be honest, I can't plan for these things realistically. For me it'll be easier to just work with what I have available to me at the time of the zombie outbreak and to be honest, I really don't wanna risk my life saving someone I don't even like all that much.
I agree with the not having too detailed a plan, but not with the it's pointless to have one part.
You don't have to plan and follow it to every detail, that's a fool's errand. But say you make a plan to possibly make it there (point B) from here (point a) and how you plan to get there based on what you are doing now. The point behind it all is because if you have at least a goal in mind, and some history of a plan, it's easier to attain said goal if you planned before and at least have some semblance of what you might be up against.
