This is technically my school-time plan, but is fitting for attacks whilst I’m outside (however rare the chance) or otherwise away from home.

Step One: Location (AKA: Where).
Just as my home plan, this plan involves getting to Burrow Mump as soon as possible.

1. Water: several streams, small river nearby
2. Food: surrounded by livestock, sheep, cows, some crop fields (season dependant), Wild Boar in the area.
3. Shelter: Ruined church at the top, largely structurally sound.
4. Warmth: base of the hill ringed by trees. Should be enough to build and to burn. Also; wool from sheep.
5. Sleep: Hill is very steep, and the base is ringed by thick trees and fencing. Hill is grazed by sheep (early warning system?).
6. Company: If I’m using as my school bug-out plan, a few people should come with me, no problem and a few more with light persuasion. Family and friends from my old school know to join there if anything goes wrong.

I chose Burrow Mump because it is about 20 miles from where I live, and also from my school. Very steep hill, topped by tall church. Surrounded by some trees, and after that, long unbroken sightlines. Lots of cattle and sheep nearby. Small village nearby, but otherwise completely uninhabited for miles. Whilst the church is semi-ruined, it is still practically structurally sound, and I will begin repair work with felled trees asap. Herd all the cattle to the nearest fields, build a small fenced area around the church to keep the sheep from shitting inside.

Step Two: Transport
My friend at Sixth Form rides a Mobylette (essentially a moped, looks rather like This One), and I will use this (with his help) to ride to my Dad’s Friend’s house, with whom I have been hunting before, and who owns a couple of air rifles, knives and various hunting paraphernalia. I will persuade him that the end has come, and that Burrow Mump is out only choice. (Hopefully) he will believe us and make his way there with any supplies from his house.
At the same time, my other friends will be crossing the road (from my Sixth Form) to the small housing estate and piling all of the supplies they can beg/borrow/steal(from the school and from the houses) into another friend’s mini (she lives just across the road), and taking any cars they can (no real experience in breaking and entering/hotwiring or grand theft auto, but desperate times: desperate measures, and who’s going to stop us? It’s the bloody apocalypse!). I will then head to my Mobylette friend’s house, and take any supplies that he has, phone my family and some old friends, then work our way to Burrow Mump, by which time (hopefully) my Father and Brother should have set off from my house, bringing with them all the supplies we have.

Step Three: Supplies
At a rough count, we have 3-4 Air Rifles, thousands of pellets, 3 houses worth of food, anything we took from the school, knives up to the eyeballs, 4+ Cars, a Mobylette, about 20 people, a chainsaw (my Brother’s) and hopefully enough warm clothes to get us through the winter (I’m already up to double trousers, and it’s barely December. Fuck weather), a couple of first aid boxes. If we assume that each farming family I know comes and brings an air rifle and a shotgun each, that put us up to 4 shotguns and 7-8 Air rifles.

After a week, we will return to civilisation on a raiding run; whilst I am usually vehemently anti-raiding, I have a specific target: the building site just outside my house, which we will hit for any building supplies/tools we can get. If possible, bringing the JCB back with it, then hitting the closer building site at my sixth form (building another boarding house), and getting any extra supplies they can.

Step Four: Groups
Limited to who will follow/listen to me. My family (Dad, Brother, Sister), school friends (roughly equal gender wise, about 20?, all 16-17), friends from old school (mainly boys, about 30 (who would follow me unto the jaws of hell), also 16-17), any hangers on to the above, any villagers who’d join, any randomers who show up.
Skills: Some mechanics, some trainee vets (people are just ugly animals), basic piloting skills, basic boating ability, one good sailor, some can shoot well (a few farmers- skinning/gutting not a problem). Any scouting/hunting groups made of 3 people, one air rifle, 3 knives, a torch and protective clothes (sleeves, long trousers, tube scarf (covering mouth and nose), safety goggles (from the school), gloves (fingerless), sensible shoes.

Step Five: Motivation
Humanity. Your country. Your Friends. Your family. Yourself.
Why fight? Why not! Don’t curl up into a ball and beg that this ‘isn’t happening’ or that it ‘can’t happen’, prepare, practice, be ready and be wary.
I fight for all of the above. I fight because there is no other sensible option.
