This is my primary zombie survival plan.
The majority of my family lives in Missouri which is lesser known as the cave state. My survival plan is to grab my arsenal and then hop into my Trailblazer which has alread had a 3" lift with brush guard and head for the hills. I have scoped a cave that will work perfectly and has the perfect defensive position. It's located at the base of a cliff on a high incline that is not easily accessable without knowing the terrain. Streams are near by making potable water accessable and there is plenty of game to be hunted "by bow, guns make too much noise". Cave has three large caverns that can be used for living quarters roughly measuring 22x15 in the largest with the others being smaller in succession smallest being 8x6. The entry is easy to get to in a hurry if need be but can be defended. steel grate door on the face of the cave at this time to keep people from going inside but I have key and so does my uncle which owns the property. Door will need to be covered to stop the weather and temperature from coming in but that is easy.
These caves were used during prohibition to store their kegs and they keep at a steady temp year round making it easy to survive midwest winters. I have more than enough arrows and three compound bows to use for all who will accompany me. As well my group has more than ample firepower as well and rations. I have made my own rain collection system that can be setup as well for our drive to the location and once we arrive to ensure the water we drink is not tainted.
My largest problem is that we have to travel a great distance so we will start as soon as possible we have a 6 hour drive from Overland Park KS. to Alton MO.
For the long haul and the post apocalyptic world we have fields nearby as well that can used to grow crops such as potatoes, corn, wheat, hops, barley and other assorted crops that can be used for our own comsumption.

The rest of goods we need can be found at my uncles farm house which is a 15min hike from the cave by foot and short drive offroad through the fields. He has a cellar full of canned goods as well as more firearms of his own if we need them.
By calculataions we have more than enough rations for our group to survive and we should be able to take on others as well if need be.
Do any of these caves connect, and lead to another entrance? Could be a good escape, but if people get in, you might want to know how and where.
Please feel free to critique this and tell me your thoughts
do you know how to make a bow and arrows?
because the ones youve got are defintely gonna get alot of use and will prolly break after a while...
Yes I have made a DIY recurve bow before. While it is a lot of work and takes lots of curing for the wood it's doable. I have also fletched many arrows synthetic and wood. Making arrows on the other hand takes a lot of skill and can also be done but let me just say without a lathe and electricity it will take even more time to try to get them straight. I'm very handy and can improvise a lathe, I'm sure. As for homemade bow string I have never attempted that before.
Native Americans used everything from leather strips to human hair and striped wood to make their strings. All of these are resources that are not easy to procure so I would probably just take my chances at raiding a store for them while heading south to my safe zone.
i heard once that its possible to get the tendons or muscle or whatever from an animal and turn it into strings, that might be a more accessible resource, but yeah, if theres a store with them, its prolly easier to just raid it.
