I want to find out more about how life is in the USA and new Zealand.
They are both very different to the uk, gun laws seem more relaxed in both.
They have brands and companies I've never heard of.
So let's start with gun laws and fast food
Fast food
In the uk our major fast food brand come mostly from the states
Mcdonalds
Burger king
Pizza hut
Domminos pizza
Kfc
Etc.
Our more local brands include
Little chef (serves typically British food including all day breakfasts)
Greggs the bakers(serves sweet and savory pastry based foods including pies and pasties)
And the big one fish and chips, fish served is usually a White fish such as cod, haddock etc. Chips are what we call fries, but chips are usually much fatter and fluffier. Fish and chip shops are mostly independant, there are only a few national brand fish shops and fewer still are drive through.
Independant drive throughs are very rare, on most American movies, people visit things like chuck's chicken and pizza planet, do you have
lots of single drive throughs? Or am I mis-informed?
Also there are no taco bell restraints in the uk at all :@
Gun laws, I understand that in the states you can pretty much go to a gunstore anywhere and walk out. Just minutes later with a cannon or combat shot gun, except California which is slightly tougher, but it is rare that you may use a fully automatic weapon.
What about NZ? How limited are your firearm options 10 hours in the future?
In the uk, almost all hand guns are illegal, with the exception of starter pistols, Gas firing replicas and antique muzzle loaders.
Shot guns need a gun certificate, which are quite difficult to obtain, you have to provide evidence that you need one for a specific purpose, self defence does not count. You also have to prove that you have a safe place suitable to keep it, a reinforced gun cabinet bolted to a wall or floor.
Rifles are the same, but need a different certificate to shotguns. It is very difficult to obtain high powered rifles such as the accuracy international acw50 or a barret.50. It is sometimes possible to get one for deer stalking but even then it would be evaluated by the local police firearm squad. A weapon with a 1.5 mile range and the ability to pierce armor would be considered excessive.
This may be, by far, one of thee most interesting topics I've seen in a while. Kudos on that.
Have you ever been to the US? How do you know about Taco Bell?
Vegas, last year, seemed great and everything, but I wasn't old enough to do any of the cool things :/
Taco bell, just popular culture references, music, video games, movies etc.
But I love Mexican food so Im just guessing that I would love taco bell. I had a taco from a taco bell-esque restraunt at the British formula 1 grand prix earlier this year and it was amazing.
Going into taco bell for 10 minutes= 10 hours in the bathroom
Sounds bad, anything like Indian food? Ever had a phal?? Hot stuff and youvfeel the effects for weeks.
kk in n.z. we have
mack dz
burger king
pizza hut
hellz pizza
dominos
kfc..... samoans eat fuk loads of chkn so its a coman sight in porirua
the more american fast food places can be found in auckland, wellington, christchurch, deneidn, the bigger citys ect
gun lays in new zealand are relaxd to a point, but to get guns other then for hunting weaopns you need to go to auckland as they don't have gun stores in welly.
the reason being that in wellington there is the political center of n.z. ,
the only way to get a legal firearm in n.z. is to have a guns licence and like a drivers licence there is different levels in a gun licence ,
you can have any firearm in n.z. from lil 9mm to fullauto rifles, as long as you have a safe way to store them, eg a gun locker
You exaggerated on that it's actually semi hard to get a gun. With the exception of shotguns. Those you just walk into Wal*Mart and buy a shotgun. ROFL
You can buy shotguns at a supermarket?
Ok, please allow me to set a thing or two straight regarding US gun laws.
Every state has it's own little gun laws, California being an excellent example of this. California could be considered the most extreme in the US, even though it is easier to legally obtain weapons in Cali than most of the world.
So, on with the straight setting-
1. Fully Automatic Firearms/Short barrel Shotguns/Short barrel Rifles/Explosives/Weapons of Mass Destruction-
In the US, if you are a citizen above the age of 23 and are not convicted of a felon, and have never committed crime in your life, you can legally own almost any weapon as long as you pay a $200 US tax on the weapon. My neighbor owns a full auto Ruger 10/22, and my cousin owns a sawed-off double-barrel 20 gauge. Both have had the tax paid on them, and are thus legal. If you can get a Federal Firearms License Class 3, you can buy and sell weapons without paying the tax, full auto or not.
2. Shotguns/rifles in Supermarkets- Yes, we do. Walk into Wal-Mart, walk out with a cheap-*** 12 gauge.
3. Flamethrowers- With the exception of California (The land of Fruits and Nuts), flamethrowers are completely legal and require no registration, tax, license, or anything. I could just go out and buy one no questions asked if I wanted to. But I don't have to! I BUILT ONE!
4. America- Awesome.
Hmm... I thought he'd be a bit more pissed off than that.
I still haven't seen an actual flamethrower yet. The first time I heard about it, I thought Justin was making it up.
He's right, their are no federal restrictions on flamethrowers, and as of 2004 automatic/assault weapons. In fact, one of the more extreme examples I have seen is, with 20 grand and a class three FFL (Federal Firearms license for the purpose of obtaining rare, antique, custom or bizarre weapons) outside of the state of California one can obtain a General Electric 7mm Minigun. Getting a FFL can be a little daunting, and you there are certain qualifying factors, but it's not too difficult. If I wanted to, I could get one as soon as I turn 21 because I have several antique weapons in my possession (one of which is over 100 years old), as well as two modern replicas of antiques. California has the most gun-control legislation, but most of it is pretty ineffective. For example, it is illegal in California to have a detachable magazine, however if a tool such as, oh I dunno, anything that can press a recessed button must be used to remove the magazine it is legal. Conversely, Montana has the most relaxed gun laws. At 14 years of age you can legally purchase a firearm and with the proper permits you can own a machine gun. Oregon has a higher age limit, but there are almost no restrictions on what weapons one can purchase, including machine guns. Also, yes you can indeed go to Walmart and buy a shotgun, or small caliber rifle.
Now Justin, to my knowledge, actual "Sawed off" shotguns are illegal in all states unless they are old or rare enough to qualify as a class 3 weapon. However, if it was made that way by the manufacturer, it is perfectly legal. As I recall, the original Mare's leg from that bounty hunter movie was a sawed off lever action Winchester. Because of this, the feds had to be on the premises whenever they wanted to use that rifle. The Mare's Leg replica made by Rossi (As seen in Zombieland) is that way from the manufacturer and therefore legal. Also, there are no federal restrictions on guns that you make or modify yourself.
Blades, you should have gone to the Bass pro-shop when you were in Vegas. They have a range there where you can test fire the different guns they've got.
Would I have been old enough?
I was only 16 at the time
To date I have only fired 2 firearms :(
One of my dad's .22 rifles which only really seemed powerful enough to mildly injure a pheasant
And a generic cheap shotgun at a clay pidgeon event
I am skilled with the old air rifle and paintball markers, but I just can't see them stopping zombie hordes
Oh yeah, easily. You could have bought a rifle had you been a resident. Pistols at 18.
I've never been to the range in Bass Pro.
OMG Bass Pro has ghillie suits I remember seeing AND touching them. I'm going to try one on and peep out the range after the holiday traffic dies down in a few weeks.
If I can wait that long.
ok i hav
1x Steyr a 5.56mm assault rifle.
2x Sig Sauer, P226, 9mm pistols.
1x L7A2 7.62mm Machine Gun.
1x 308 Remington 700 ACIS sniper.
1x 45ACP H&K USC.
the only reason i can have the steyr and L7A2 is because of my job title as they are the army/navy versions
Britains 22 regiment, SAS use sigsauer 9mm, you have good taste
yea the n.z sas like them to, the stoping power is ausum and its easy to clean
I Would love 1, just a shame my government wouldn't love me to have one.
I have a mosquito.
ok today one cop was shot in an auckland suburb, the nz cops arn't armed so they are thinking of isueing standerd police firearms, the only arm'ed cops are the A.O.S they are the NZ vrsn of swat
i dont like the mosquito, its only starnded clip is a 10shot clip :(
Police are unarmed in the uk, with the exception of so19 which are like swat but only for London, local firearms teams( one per city or about 0.008 per town) and the special police in major airports
my god i want a 50AE Desert Eagle MK XIX 24K GOLD
its so god damn sexy, now all i need is silver builets and im good to go
Hunting werewolves? I can't believe the police aren't armed in N.Z. If the citizens have guns, then arming the police is a must. As I understand it the Sig is rather popular with the police here too, but typically they have Beretta 9mm's
I thought the police carried Glocks more.
in the u.s they use bretta its the standed issue in n.z the sidearm of choice is the stig but as the A.O.S use them and normal cops dont its a rear sight, the stig is only avalible for army, navy and airforce in n.z
I have a sig p226 9mm, same gun ill use in the teams, at least during training then i get to pick what ever the fuck i want, being spec ops and what not
fukn hell we had to use steyr during basic, there alright but a little old and ugly but as the saying goes if it hurts it works, usuly i use a bretta 9mm i like the fral of them
They carry those too, Glock 17's to be precise. It's a good gun, my older brother has one.
is the u.s gona use the dragion skin b.p.v. kaleyta ?
To my knowledge it has been distributed in limited numbers for Beta testing, but has not yet been adopted for widespread use.
mostly right now the army any way issued is intercepter body armor. some guys are getting offered it some turn it down some wear it. personly i would its much better and lighter then what we have now, that means i can carry more ammo. Spec ops guys get the most choices, especialy DEVGRU guys they get pretty much what ever the fuck they want.

I have a Glock 22 (o0o0o night sightz!) and the 17
why does my government hate me so?
I want to live in the land of the gun
How much would a greencard cost on the black Market?
we use the OH-09-0526-132 Body Armour. its ok i took 5 shots and just got brused
What you get shot with bro? and why the hell you let them shoot you 5 times
just come to n.z as ur a u.k citisin u get n.z. citisinshp and aus aswell
Why don't you just get a long term Visa and apply for citizenship? I guess they're making it easier now.
shhh! Kuma! Hey Bladez I'll trade you that V card for a Green card.
Cake, no one has a v card left to give you
If I moved to new Zealand or aus, could I serve in the armed forces?
I always wanted to be an engineer in the royal navy submarine service's vanguard fleet.
But I would gladly serve elsewhere in exchange for some firearms
I'm giving up.
Is it true that everyone in England has a greenhouse bc it rains all of the time?
It does rain all the time, but not everyone has a greenhouse, that's silly talk
Most people in the suburbs, towns and villages do though, I grow tomatoes in mine(:
(in the uk we pronounce it tom-ar-toesw
Is it true that you don't have to pay for life insurance?
Life insurance is different, but we still pay for it.
If you die and it's a companies fault though, you can get the company responsible to pay for the funeral
Also, other insurances contain life insurance, for example, if I die in my car, my mum will get 25000 pounds
I see it now, your last word will be "take me... to my car *Cough* *Cough*"
I think my mum get's 10,000 if I die in the line of duty.
i got shot 5 times with sum old ass ak47 by a crew member of a boat that was trying to smuggl coke into n.z i shot him with a 12 gauge, he didnt have armor, it was the 1st time i had been shot and the 1st time i killed some one, some people go realy weard avo something like that, i didnt change muj

yea you can when i was doing my recruting there was a pommy boii trying to get in as a hydrographic engener , he got the job and you can aply online overseas
Ah the ak47, a true example of how communism works, it's mighty tough but more r less useless
One hell of a weekend. You shoot anything with a 12 gauge and it aint getting back up.
The question you gotta ask yourself is, put in the same situation again, what would you have done differently? Aside from getting shot that is.
This started out as a ridiculous quest for fire arms, but moving to new Zealand actually seems like a good idea. I've got my whole life ahead of me, might aswell spend it somewhere hot with a gun or 2
Useless my ass, just no good against armor, Velocity is too low. But without armor it'll turn you to hamburger.
