I've never really cared for the butterfly knives. A regular pocket knife will do the job just as well, and you're less likely to lose a finger playing with it. I see them as being novelties more then anything else, Just like switchblades. Fun to have but not terribly useful.

I agree they are more for show then actual use. The steel is poor for one thing. It is more likely to cut you then the dead bastards. I Recommend A Buck General fixed blade Or a Cold steel trail master fixed blade Or a K-bar. Under the situation of a zombie encounter. But for a folder knife get a SOG or a CQd. Very good steel and good design and safe. At lest for you now now hold still Bobby we are just going to take a bit of the top HAHAHA

Exactly. Cold steel makes a fine product for a good price to. I've got a cold steel Katana and while I wouldn't want to fight armored opponents with it, it is a very robust little sword. Better suited then a machete anyway, and machetes are very effective killing tools. As for knives, well a picture's worth a thousand of 'em so here's what I'm working with. It's extremely well balanced and comfortable to hold.

A word on butterfly knifes- I would never, ever use one as a weapon because they are ridiculously impractical. However, mine is NOT made out of a crappy steel. Mine is a Benchmade, and it is 1060 Steel. Calling it crappy metal is an insult, as I paid almost $200 for the knife. Thank you, good day.

Well for one i never specifically said that yours is made of bad steel. And benchmade makes sum nice things but most of all butterfly knives. Are made in china or Taiwan or Pakistan which all are SHIT!!!!! steel. Compared to U.S.A Germany sum Russian and sum japan steel. Now for the new question why did you spend 200$ on a butterfly knife. That you said yourself you would not use and is impractical. That is beyond me if i spend 200 dollars on a knife. You better believe that i would use it if the situation ever called for it. And it would be safe and very practical. If i wanted sum ting for entertainment use. I would get a PSP or hell a game boy. It would entertain me and there would be no risk in getting cut or sum shit. All i am saying is that you could have got yourself a great knife for that $$$$. BUT i know you have your reasons and i think that everyone is entitled to their opinion.

3. I have more practical knifes/swords than most people HAVE knives/swords.

4. PSP's and game boy's have batteries. Batteries run out. Knives don't run out.

5. There is NO risk of "getting cut or sum shit" if you use the weapon properly.

Ok, all in all I'm not trying to chew you out. I'm trying to make a statement to ALL YZP MEMBERS that I am NO amateur with weapons. In fact, for someone of my age, I am a VERY knowledgeable person on the topic.

I think what he was trying to say is that you can do what youvwant, but a butterfly knife wouldn't have been his first choice. Second, you can spend your money however you like, but I'm fighting zombies on a budget. Finally I don't give a damn how talented or experienced you are, everybody makes mistakes and if you forget how badly you can mess yourself up with one of those (or any other weapon for that matter) your liable to lose important appendages.
