This story is more of an improvisation type plan. Its based off of the unprepared person and helps to give them an idea of what to do. I understand there are more rules I could have put, but I some people don't always have the same environment.
This is only part one, I will continue on it though.

Axel wakes up to the sound of glass breaking, its still dark out and he's quite drowse. Despite his drowsiness he's pretty alert as anyone would be if they thought someone broke in. His windows not broken so he looks around for someone to grab, unfortunately all he has is video game equipment so he picks up a guitar controller to his game(#1). Being a paranoid person Axel keeps his door locked when he's asleep. As he nears his door, unlocking it slowly, he hears a scream. Recognizing his moms voice he opens the door quickly and darts to her room and opens the door. Fear takes over him when he witnesses his dad covered in blood biting his mothers neck on the bed, there is blood everywhere and a dead body on the floor but all he sees is his mom covered in blood. Another scream of his little sister Miranda behind him shrieking at the site alerts what was once his sane father. The father rushes at them and Axel terrified slams the controller into his head sending him to the floor(#2). The plastic breaks into pieces and his sister shrieks. The body doesn't move and his sister goes running into the room to her dead mothers body.

"Whats going on?!" Miranda shrieks. Axel runs to his room to grab his phone and call the police, a woman's voice plays on the line. His eyes widen open and as he is about to run back he screams "Miranda stay awa..." but then he sees his mom and his sister covered in blood walking out of the room, through the door of his room. He knows whats going to happen as he stares at them staring at him. Axel quickly slams the door close and locks it. Breathing heavily he falls to his knees "Wh..why" he says to himself. He grabs his head, the pain pulses in his head, and he bursts into tears and vomits on the floor. He finally notices the sound of cars and screams of people outside.

His crying is interrupted by a pounding on his door. He snaps out of it remembering all the times he told his friends he knew what to do in case of a zombie attack or as the voice on the phone said, viral outbreak. Quickly he turns on his tv to see what the situation is, some stations are down but a worldwide broadcast explains of a pandemic occurring overnight from the southern border. It goes over the basics of the virus reanimating the dead, suggesting people to stay indoors. He grabs some clothes from his closet, tight clothes under so they can't grab my clothes and dress shirt I can slip out of in case they do get a hold he thinks(#3). He grabs his book bag, empty's it out, and fills it with what he can grab including some extra clothes, a can of body spray, some hats, and portable game system. Looking around he finds his drum set has steel bars that are removable so he takes one. As the banging on his door starts to give way he quickly opens the window and kicks out the screen. Upon exiting he notices people running on the street and makes tries to keep unnoticed. Axel then darts through a small field towards his friends house. On the way there he calls his friend to see if he's still there otherwise it'd be a waste of time. His friend Sahriou picks up and sounds unusually tired, but is alive and unharmed. Axel explains what just happened and Sahriou responds "Its a good thing my dad goes to the gun show". Fortunately Sahriou's house it only a couple minutes away by running and after a few close call Axel makes it to his house. He knocks on the door in a particular way to show he's not a zombie and Sahriou checks the window and opens(#4).

"What the hell happened here" Axel asks, "They broke in the fuckin patio" Sahriou responds "So I stuck one of the swords I got at the gun show in his head". After some quick discussion they realize they have to get to the gun shop near their house first since its so early that the owner isn't their most likely. Axel passes Sahriou a hat. "Why the hat?" Sahriou asks. "Anyone who's infected most likely wasn't wearing a hat or had it fall of from fighting while they were alive". "Good point" Sahriou responds. Sahriou packs some necessities of his own and hands Axel a sword. "Roads gonna be a mess so we'll have to go on foot"(#5) Axel explains "Also lets refrain from using your dad's guns just yet or that might attract attention"(#6).
