all i can say bro is you will be fucked up if u use any thing like chain mail, sure maby a shark suit could stop the bites and scratches but if you were it the noise factour will atract them and the bites may even brake bones.
as for plate mail its not all that good, you get hot! it hindres movement and the leather straps holding it together will giveout on you.

if your looking into protection you may want to consiter motorbikeing gear eg leathers and kevelar covers, is you have a enuf money try going for ostrage leather becuase its ten times stronger then its cow hide counterparts.

short of a suit of power armor you going to find it hard in a world of zombies, but i would reccomend a builet proof vest if going into a place where frendly fire is a risk.

But no armours protect against pulling. And a tooth could easily penetrate all but the finest of mails.
Also, chainmail is heavy, whilst not as much as platemail, it is certainly to heavy to wear for extended periods of exertion.
Also, where would you get chainmail from? It's ardly just laying around, and good mail is even rarer.
