ok i live in the heartland southern illinois so i am surrounded by highly populated areas on all sides...so any way i would have trouble getting out of the area...if there were a zombie out break i would grab my revolver,four shotguns,four rifles and a machete throw them in my truck and then i would go get my friends shaun,dj.charles they all have alot of guns and supply...i would get them and then i would head to the local bass pro shop and pawn shop grab whats left of the guns and ammo and supplies etc. throw that in the truck [oh and i forgot to mention that i would have a convoy my friends have four wheelers and wagons i would be in the middle dj in front shaun in back and charles on overwhatch] then i would head to the woods out by my country woodlands[forest] i would find the field were there is a cliff at the end of the field and then i would fortify that cliff that way if they charge the front someone could just pick them off from the cliff and then i would pay attention to my back and sides i would dig a trech filled with spikey points and sharp objects like glass and ripped and bended metal...then i would search for a cb radio or some walkie talkies and listen for survivors while occasionally looking for them...my fort would be an out post for survivors but to be on the safe side i would have a quarentine room on the other side of the fortified trench[there would be a draw bridge or somethin of course] i would put them in there for 24 hours and then i would make them strip to see if they were bitten and the i would let them in my for would also make my fort have a democracy were every one could vote on the decisions we make if the survivors come up with an idea they will tell me and i will gather every one in the main room and ask for there vote on the decision and it all goes on and on they can leave if they feel and all that the only time i would leave is to search for survivors or food and supplies oh and if the area gets to infected of course well thats world war z plan...hope yuh liked it someday it just might save your life...
How will you obtain food, water and nutrition from someplace other then raiding.
well there is alot of wildlife around here that would problably not be infected so i would send a group out to hunt and plus there is a near by creek i would boil that water and then that would make it clean...and alive non infected fish and snakes reptiles etc. plus it sounds sick but previously non infected dead fish would be a delicacy if you were starving but only fish have a less chance of making you sick because the water clenses there dead body...plus worms are high in protien make sure that by some freak chance that they arent infected an your good to go as any other insect as well and bird eggs i recommend the woods as a great place to survive world war z treat her right and she'll treat you right...
Then it would be impossible to live in that one spot for long if you hunt. If hunting efforts pursue in that area, soon wildlife will soon be accustomed to your presence and clear the area around you. Sure, you'll still have fish and berries to eat, but you need to gather much more then the land can sustain you indefinitely.
Keep in mind that you need to gather more then 30 pounds of food every week to keep you guys alive.
And the dead fish being cleansed by water, no. The countless amount of pathogens floating in that water need something to feed on, although it would get less broken down then in stagnant water, its still going to get worse and worse as time goes by, then gone by other animals and the tide.
