First of all,when the zombie apocolypse or possibly even the "virus" spreads it will come to all of us unawares reguardless of careful search(although one or ten(for every square foot more or less)may possibly notice and try to tell everybody but they most likely will be called nothing but nutters).

Ok 1. Assuming that I am made aware of the zombie attack before hand, I'll grab up my katana, two daggers, sword, and switchblade. I'll get as many of my near by friends to come with me on the way to Fort Dix (not terribly far away). Once we get there, we'll reinforce the perimeter fences and whole up in the prison buildings (almost completely surrounded by 10ft fences and layers of electrified barbed wire) with as many weapons, supplies, and food as we can get (it's a military training facility so nothing will be hard to obtain).
